I served 30 years in military and now hate politicians with a passion. It always the young men that die thousands, and in regard to both World Wars millions. In regards to the colour footage, it brings home how young these men were.
@lingmingching110 ай бұрын
@rockyrowlands3652 - I hear you and respect your view. The funny thing I learned is that there's a difference between a politician and a statesmen. What never sat right with me was those who seek to profit from the misfortune of others. I wish you and yours all the best.
@AnonGent-w2q10 ай бұрын
I also served in the military and I am right with you brother. It's why Black Sabbath's song War Pigs is so befitting this horror of politicians ordering countless young men to their deaths. The true art of statecraft is being able to wield diplomacy and reason with such shrewd cunning that they accomplish their goals with other nations so that their armies never get deployed. Otto von Bismark was a master at this, even though he did engineer his share of military campaigns.
@BobSmith-dk8nw10 ай бұрын
This is Bull Shit. The fallacy here - is that it's ALL these politicians that start the wars. It only takes one National Leader to start a war. Look at Putin. The war in Ukraine is ALL because of HIM personally. Everyone else is just reacting to what he's done. In WWI - Serbia started the war by killing the heir to the Austrian throne. The Serbian Intelligence Agency (or whatever it was called) made the decision to take Serbian Terrorists who wanted to kill members of the Austrian Royal Family - arm them, finance them and send them to Serajevo to kill Arch Duke Ferdinand. Serbia started that war and everyone else - was just responding to what Serbia had done or caused to be done. None of the leaders of the other countries wanted that war - but - Serbia started it - and everyone else fell in line because of their Treaty Obligations. And - Serbia won. They got what they wanted - which was Yugoslavia - which Serbia ran. Look at Hitler. Hitler wanted to forcefully greatly expand Germany and HE made the decisions to do what the Germans did. No one else wanted a war and they appeased Hitler to try and prevent one - but - that failed. They didn't appease Hitler and he went right on until they gave up on preventing a war and went to war with HIM. These politicians did everything they could to prevent that war but - really didn't have any choice. The thing that they are really guilty of - is throwing a way what their soldiers have earned with their lives. We should not have allowed the Soviets to take all of Eastern Europe - and gone to war with them to prevent that. But - the Politicians didn't want another war - so they let the Soviet Union enslave all those people throughout a "Cold War". We should not have allowed the Soviet Union to take control of Northern China and give the arms of the Japanese troops to the Chinese Communists. We should have gone to war to prevent China becoming Communist - but we didn't - and millions upon millions died because of that - and - the Communists still run China - and we could go to war with them yet. It is as much Politicians failing to go to war when they should - that is causing all these deaths - than it is going to war when they shouldn't - or actually - more so. But congratulations. Ignorant people have been spouting that Bull Shit for decades that I'm aware of. So - welcome to the club. .

Churchill was a guest of the Kaiser in 1909 and observed German army manoevres on one of the Kaiser's horses.
