How many k. M do u hiked to get there?

It was a long day hike from sunrise to sunset with a length of about 23km. There are shorter routes if you only want to go to Schrecksee or any of the other lakes but I did a loop starting in Austria past the first two lakes, then towards Schrecksee in Germany and back to the first lake. @@ajayvc1460 Offically you're not allowed to camp in the mountains in Germany or Austria except for emergency biwak. Especially at Schrecksee there have been some problems with people leaving rubbish behind and people have been fined apparently. There are some designated parking lots where you can sleep in your car overnight or use official campsites. As far as other hiking places in Germany or Austria are concerned... well, the Alps are your oyster, almost anywhere is nice. Just google best hikes in the Alps etc and you'll find some worthwile suggestions to consider. Personally I really like the Tyrol area in Austria.

@@ajayvc1460 I'm sure one day you can visit all the beautiful places in the Alps. But until then don't forget all those great mountains in your own backyard. India has some amazing places too. About 10 years ago I visited incredible places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand which offer some great hiking routes as well.
