Carsten Petersen Hallo Herr Milzow.

Wonderful video, and it's clear you love these horns. Me too!, (perhaps I should finally make videos).

One day I met a man, I was struck by his sound. Now I realized that he had a Conn tenor saxophone and an Otto link mouthpiece. Old musical instruments can do what modern ones can't.

That’s true, but please don’t forget the man behind the vintage sax ;-) it’s not just everything about the instrument.

@@Official_David_Milzow_Music I gave that person a Yanagisawa T901 UL, it was a really bad sound. The man had a good playing skill, but the modern saxophone sounded bad. I thought it was a mistake, but then I began to realize that the old tools are better. I do not know why modern saxophones sound so bad, and what manufacturers are doing. This is some kind of madness. Some make an enlarged bell, it's like a woman with a beautiful face and big ears. The skills and the musician himself are important, but it doesn't work without a normal instrument.

I agree with you, I prefer the Vintage Conn sound, too, BUT: I personally know to many people who sound even bad on fine vintage sax, so of course it begins with the player! I go so far that I would sound great on a Yanagisawa Sax as well, because they built solid horns!

@@Official_David_Milzow_Music I hope one day it will be possible to come to the store and buy Conn, King, Martin, Buesher. Modern manufacturers have lost the secret, their saxophones are like bad women's perfume. Selmer is a high price) Or someone will revive the mouthpieces of Brilhart.

Basically the building-philosophy/know-how of the big bore- horns like Buescher, Martin, Conn, King, Dolnet (!!!) is gone- really sad!!! I really regret this development- nevertheless the contemporary saxes of the good/established companies just share another philosophy.
