Everybody wants a cop when they are threatened - activists included. Abel, I hope you find peace and a meaningful career of your choosing. You come across as a wonderful human being. My adult child is transitioning and at 30 years of age can give informed consent.

Best wishes to you and your child's journey. At age 71, I look back at age 30 and think how young I was and how many life altering decisions I was yet to make, and regret. But, age 30 is as close to mature enough to make informed consent as one can possibly get. In my experience, the length of time between regret and informed consent gets further and further apart with each aging year. P.S. my 84 year old friend says to me, "You're so young, so much more to learn yet."

@@sueciviero3866smiles. My sister is 61, and you are correct, 61 is very young compared. At 61, I bought an evolved kombi camper van (VW transporter camper van), had lots of energy, went on the road, singing camps, pagan camps, women's camps (lgbtq+ welcoming) 11 months of 12 each year. Home for Christmas. Then, the plague arrived. Home 24/7 - I have a history of serious medical issues and co-morbidities, so isolation was the go to. Then I broke my knee on a flat footpath at 69. I started meeting the knee replacement brigade the hip parade, the pacemaker crew (youngest 63), the stent survivors. And I'd seen the serious inside of hospitals since I was 53, but I still didn't realise how precious it was. A 70 year old writer friend once said to me, "It's like a switch, Carolyn, and it's a switch that gets flicked at 70." Coming from a Buddhist, this was a very Biblical moment, lol. (Three score and ten.) For some, they're 91, and still take no medications and have no operations, but they are a rare bird. May you be one of those. Enjoy. Chirp. Chirp. (Thankyou for being my inspiration today for my journalling.)

Hey Abel, I loved your openness and honesty, you are amazing! One thing I learned in life is that when I was being selffish, I had a hard time believing others would give to me or help me, because I projected my selfish onto everyone else. Once I started practicing giving my whole world changed. Maybe you can think about that in regards to your not being able to forgive yourself. Maybe, practicing forgiving others will help you see the hope beyond your regrets, and will change your whole world. I'll be praying for you! Much love!

Abel, clearly you are a very brave thoughtful person. Give to yourself what you want to give to others. You are going to be fine. IMHO, nothing feels better than mastering skills. It majorly builds self-esteem. I graduated college when I turned 50. Don't wait until everything is as you think it should be before you love yourself. It will never be. Be happy today.

As a baby boomer, who had my babies in the 1980s (so they are millenials), I'm an elder with wisdom baying in the wilderness (now writing on the biggest graffiti wall in the universe.) My generation experienced huge changes, many of which we instigated in an attempt to make society a better, more accepting place. We were children who were seen but not heard. The "do as you're told, or else," generation. We tried to raise our children differently. We still set boundaries, but, increasingly fewer, smacked, it was ever increasingly frowned on. (agree). We grew up when homosexuality was illegal, we worked to change that. Then the personal computer monster arrived. And the internet etc. We have gone past the railway station, because we left something to believe in (God/spirituality/search for meaning in life /call it what you will) on a broader communal or societal basis behind. So, now, each individual is left flailing around in the water trying to find their own way. We also failed to give the next generation something real to strive for (we had basic human rights for all). In my opinion, we allowed our young to lose touch with reality (internet world) and not remain earthy. Too many creature comforts. Get down and dirty once a year for a month or two, or. maybe, a weekend or twelve. Switch off the phone, the electricity, park the car. Maybe then we'd still appreciate natural raw childbirth, how fragile life is & how inevitable death becomes. Instead they scream climate change, AI and interplanetary exploration (like we can all just pack up & leave home, ha ha). The same people scream all three things while chanting rights, trans rights, bipoc rights, never human rights. The earth is our home, nature will win, we are not gods. We are narcists. Remember when we thought the Sun revolved around us? We still do, but, we've just replaced Sun with Earth. Mother Gaia is going swat us like a fly if we don't walk bare footed, use a pit toilet, think a candle is the best thing we ever were gifted. And books ... well, they didn't exist 600 years ago.

Boys like Abel used to just be that, boys. Now any boy that’s not typically masculine is trans and similar for girls. I’m starting to think some of these therapist so quickly ready to attach trans to anyone seeking therapy for normal teenage feelings might be getting kickbacks for every patient they refer for hormones or trans surgery. It’s just a thought, but why are they so willing to make it a trans issue when there’s many other things that can cause a person to feel like Abel did.
@inkoftheworld

I also wonder how much of this stuff is funded by money. All the big institutions, government, police, charities, schools, etc, are they all getting on the trans train because they are receiving funding to do it? It's more believable than everyone actually buying into this stuff...

That is so weird that they didn’t ask about trauma when he transitioned (or didn’t think of it as something that should stop transition) but when he wanted to detransition then they brought up trauma as something to consider to not go through with detransitioning …. Like what… that’s so backwards.

This poor man, what a horror story. He's very atypical, as men who transition either get a sexual kick out of it as AGPs or they are gay men who want to escape homosexuality or live the fantasy of being desired by straight men. He seems to be neither. I do get some major gay vibes from him though. He seems to have experienced the encounter with the sex worker as rape, which I'm not sure many straight men would. I hope he finds peace and that he sues the bastards for what they did to him.
