We went up without any real funding and an average side good at grinding results out in the championship and we paid the price, still at least we Derby fans can say we have a record that will almost never be broken

West Brom had the team most suited to the Premier League during that playoff final, sometimes when it all comes down to one playoff match the best team doesn't go up. There was better Derby squads years before that failed to get through the playoffs that they qualified for, but that's just how it goes. They needed to buy some good players when promoted and never did, then sold or loaned out the good players from the promotion season. It was a squad of reject mercenaries that had no heart in the club or real quality on the pitch. Despite mostly getting thrashed every week and watching players who went down without a fight, Derby fans kept selling out 33,500 fans every match at home, the team didn't deserve such loyalty. Oh and they spent millions on buying Robbie Savage in January who was just a kicking yellow card recieving nothing midfielder that runs around like a headless chicken. If you aren't scoring goals and need to save your season, you don't spend millions on DMF Robbie Savage, you buy a striker.

They'll probably beat Swindon Town's 100 goals in 42 games with four less matches, which is impressive. Then again, 11 points, 29 defeats and just 20 goals scored will be very hard to beat. One question, were the Derby fans leaving the ground before the final whistle is losing heavily? As a foreigner I find it disgusting what's happening in the Premier League, was it always like that? After all, we're talking about the worst Premier league side of all time
