Good game, was good to see us back to our proper levels. Thought Sunderland showed a lot of intent and promise, a young side that will get better for sure. You could see we'd managed to train properly, fitness looked better, passing was sharp and accurate and the intensity was back, great result, great performance. I hope this gives us confidence to move on now and attack the league and of course, the FA Cup.

That’s best performance all round for bout 2 months first time in 2 months we looked energetic for the whole 90 mins great way kick start rest of the season, 2 tough games coming up we’ve beaten city at home already this season no reason we can’t do it again , an 2 weeks then to prepare for away to villa who’s performances dropped also recently thought boro were unlucky to lose to them yesterday

It was men against boys today but I think Newcastle never got out of second gear we are still not playing at our best yet but job done, and that photo we normally take that photo in the locker room but to do that out on the pitch was mad but the photo we sell out if they were to print that out in the club shop as it was a classic😂

Sunderland knew if they kicked it long from goal it would have been easy for us to get it straight back to them so they tried to play it out from back in the hope of getting threw and breaking on the back four.
