The indirect free kick given at 4:07 on Hector - you never see those these days why? The offside goal did not look offside. No mention of the George hat-trick at the commentary until 10 seconds after he scored it. Less emphasis on them those days I assume. Nowadays we have the “assist” shown on all stats - what is all that about?
@dsj824 жыл бұрын
I have thought about that too. Weren't thoes freekicks back then given, if the foul was made inside the penalty box, but with no direct chance of scoring?. They should really need to bring thoes freekicks back given these VAR times. A non intentuell hand ball for example, should release a indirect freekick inside the box instead of a penalty kick and everybody is HAPPY.

@@dsj82 Absobloodylutely. unintentional should be even a direct free kick but not a penalty A penalty should only be given for an intentional foul and especially if they were likely to have a shot on goal. Most games only have one or two goals in so lets not give them away with silly penalty awards. lt really is obvious. Every accidental hand ball whether it be an outstretched arm or not should just be an automatic free kick. Surely everyone would be happy with that and penalties confined to bad tackles and deliberate.. Oh my god lve just handled it... type of incidents. Also lets stop all the manhandling at free kick and corners... Jockey for position and use shoulders but it would make for a better game if it was a foul if you actually hold an opponent with a closed hand. Sometimes they seem to be wrestling each other. Same for everyone and it doesn't mean take away physical contact, just stop the grappling👍⚽

Arsenal fans would sing: Charlie George; superstar, how many goals have you scored so far, to which opposition fans would reply with: Charlie George, superstar, walks like a woman and he wears a bra.

A plea to all Derby fans of this era - I'm an Atletico Madrid fan and would love to see footage of Derby's penalty shootout win over Atletico the previous season to this (just months after Atletico lost to Bayern in a replay of the CL final).

But that game was in the UEFA cup (2-2 in Derby and the same in Madrid 2-2)

That first goal by Charlie George was top quality and what a player he was. What Tommy Docherty did to that Derby team was an absolute disgrace....he wanted yes men and destroyed that great team.

I love Franny but I think he took a bit of a dive! But what a player!
@portcullis56224 жыл бұрын
That dive was his trademark! The infamous fight he had with Norman Hunter was triggered by an outrageous dive to win a penalty earlier in the match.
