My feet were off the ground for the whole game, wedged in between adult shoulders I watched and apart from the goals and the roar of the crowd when we scored I remember King Kev's backside disappearing down the line time and again.I think they admitted to about 45,000 but there were considerably more than that on the night. Dave Mackay’s Derby side was beautiful to watch in the days of goalies not wearing gloves, little arguing with the referee (even though there were some terrible decisions) sponsorship limited to advertising around the pitch, European Cup for Champions only and a proper knock out competition. Spurs had good forwards but their defence was awful. The notion that if you have mediocre defenders but good forwards, you will continue to win matches has always been a problem at Spurs. In this particular game, the full backs and wing halves were third rate. Hence, they were thumped by Derby.
