Maybe the worst own goal I've ever seen. And by a fresh sub, no less. These old games are a ton of fun to rewatch. Thanks for posting.

Great win for the Rams that helped them win the title: beating Leeds by only one point. Amazingly this was Brian Clough's only victory against his future club, but his son Nigel's record, as Derby manager against Leeds, was much more impressive !
@112sje2 ай бұрын
Two suicide back passes and two suspect penalty decisions cost the Rams the match. How could Roger Davies not spot Peter Lorimer lurking in front of Colin Boulton ? Maybe Don Revie offered him one of his back-handers ! 🤣

I know there is still a gulf between the bigger and smaller nations but it’s incredible how far clubs from Ireland, Luxembourg, Cyprus have developed since then. The standard used to be appalling, barely amateur level.

This Derby team is long forgotten by most fans today but they were pretty damn good in my opinion if Clough and Taylor had stayed they would have dominated English and possibly European football for many seasons to come. I was a huge fan of Kevin Hector while Todd and Mc Parland were as good a central defensive pair as you could get .

Millwall should have received a huge punishment for this but pretty much got away with it.

Imagine being a 19 y o. promise from Costa Rica, Central America... Your debut is against a mythical Man U, playing away at Old Trafford... And you score a goal like this... It's crazy!

That first goal by Charlie George was top quality and what a player he was. What Tommy Docherty did to that Derby team was an absolute disgrace....he wanted yes men and destroyed that great team.
