This is the first time I've really seen Fury fight and I must say I am surprisingly impressed. He's got good speed, excellent upper body flexibility and natural fighting instincts. He gets made fun of because of his name, his cockiness and self-promotion, but I wouldn't be surprised if neither Klitschko ever gave him an opportunity.

best part, chisoras attack from 10.42 and his punch at 11.47 say what you want about chisora and his losses, he comes to fight to the final bell and he entertains, which is more than i can say about any other modern heavyweight "fighter"

@dkxlion... It's a whole new game in an MMA fight. I'm pretty sure a 6 ounce glove doesn't cushion your blows and such dangerous strikes as elbows and knee's to the face won't exactly be procrastinated for a jab.

I laugh at the comparison between Chisora and Joe Frazier. Thats like comparing a fisher price gun to an AK47. Can you imagine either of these two nuts in the ring with a Tyson, Frazier, Foreman etc it would be a 1st round KO
@kadam1188
@kadam1188 10 жыл бұрын
No its like comparing a cruiserweight with a heavyweight, at least get the difference right I've got the stats If you really really want me to give you them? And also... Frazier is rather feather fisted and he has a glass jaw what makes you think he will just knockout a much bigger stronger man when he couldn't even KO small Oscar Bonavena?
@BackTo1969
@BackTo1969 10 жыл бұрын
K Adam I think your missing the point. I was talking about ability, speed, technique, ferociousness, longevity, style, class. Besides, Frazier was a heavyweight not a cruiser weight if thats what you are refering to. Maybe I should give YOU the stats.
@kadam1188
@kadam1188 10 жыл бұрын
I'll give you the stats alright... Out of Joes entire career he only fought 19 people above the weight of 200lbs with only 10 of those opponents weighing above the weight of 210lbs. If you're going to include guys below 200lbs and consider them as HW's then you're wrong for doing so. From the 19 fights with heavyweights his record came in as 14(9)-4-1, out of the KO percentage 7 of them were TKO's the only decentish opponent he stopped was Jimmy Ellis (paper champion) apart from that... He robbed Oscar Bonavena in the first fight and he won the rematch and beat a post-exile Ali who was pretty much overrated to the high-heavens to this very day. He lost the two further rematches with Ali and even being stopped by feather fisted faded Ali, Foreman toyed Frazier about like a little boy aswell.
@kadam1188
@kadam1188 10 жыл бұрын
Joe Fraziers average weight of opponent through 30+ fights = 205lbs and his average heavyweight opponents record reads in at 34-12-1 Impressive? I do not think so.

@muclesmarinara Three five minute rounds which equates to 5 rounds in boxing. And are you telling me that there aren't some heavyweights worn out after 5 rounds in boxing? Watch some top heavyweights like Velasquez, Junior Dos Santos, Daniel Cormier or Josh Barnett and you'll see that they have good gas tanks. Plus, grappling is much more taxing than striking. No chins? How can you say that when some heavyweights (eg Sergei Kharitonov, Alistair Overeem) come from or still participate in boxing?

I wouldn't say boxing is dead...it's the heavy weight division that's dead. The emphasis has shifted to size (as there's no upper limit in this class) so what we are getting now is tall, big, slow fighters without the same grace of the previous generations. Watching Haye struggle to get on the inside of Wald was a good example of this. You can have all the skill in the world...if the other fighters is allot bigger/taller/stronger than you then you're going to struggle.

I wouldn't put it down to the Klitcho's why heavy weights are so tall lately, yeah some are relying on their height for a small edge but I just don't think there are many talented boxers in the division right now. Talented boxers will rise to the top eventually. Some good heavy weights around, maybe not as much in recent decades though.

Fury showed various qualities in this fight, elements which will serve him well against the likes of Price, Haye and in any world title fights. these include a good chin, ability to withstand a crisis and come back strongly, punch output, footwork and good durability. Just to make clear though, I am not saying he would beat Haye but is a handfull for anybody.
@834373
@834373 11 жыл бұрын
But don't forget that this fight was 2 years when Fury was only 22. He is learning all of the time. I'm not sure if you've watched his fight with Kevin Johnson but he was very impressive in that fight. His problem is his lapses of concentration. If he loses concentration against Haye and he gets caught then he'll be having an early shower. I will say that I think Fury will wear Haye down. Haye struggled with the pace against Chisora, I think he'll have the same problem with Fury.

---Good post, and you are spot on! Not to worry about haye, Fury will do a big man Klitschko number on the boy,jab,jab,jab,lay on him, tie him up, rough him up, will not allow him to get close enough to land a power shot,and by the 7th or 8th round (knock him out) You heard it here first LOL---

Tyson Fury actually better than I expected. If he gets some intelligent physical conditioners around him to to work on a little more muscle mass and speed (fast twitch fibres) he could be quite effective at the highest level. He is young, so needs people to develop his ring craft.

All this talk about Haye vs. Chisora. Haye is certainly a better boxer, no question. Anyone who argues otherwise isn't being objective or has a limited understanding of the sport. BUT, the thing is, if Haye loses, he has nowhere left to go - he'll have no respect left. If Chisora loses, it'll be less of a shock as, in all honesty, he's been bloody lucky to get chances against fighters like Klitchko and Haye. It underlines the lack of real talent in the Heavyweight division.
@Marvellous.Misfit

U said it, heavyweight boxers should have 2 make a certain weight like fighters in every other weight class. We want 2 see athletes exhibiting slick technique, agility, speed & endurance. If Fury was born in the U.S. he would be in WWE 4 sure. The klitchko's are a class above other modern heavyweights & they're cumbersome & lacklustre, the heaviest boxer should be like 105kg/232Ib no more.

Fury is doing great! Only 23 dodging noone, look at klitschko's early fights and see how rusty they were. they are around 15 years older then him. If fury spars alot like Ali did instead of just fitness just spar loads against good fighters and train himself to take punishment and deal with pain while constantly sparing then he will be a world champion. He is a great bloke as I saw on the wright stuff and a great ambassador for the fight game.

Tyson has a decent chin it seems. They were wild shots though. A tight technique would've made the punches twice as hard and near impossible to take cleanly. That's something Fury has going for him, the smaller guys will have to get wild to get on him and it costs them power.

I'm with SuperSoulijah on this one. He is big and slow and has knockout other big slow guys. MMA is something very different, at Cain's level you need to be crisp quick and take a punch with 4oz gloves. The only on that could have possibly called out people in his prime and followed through would have been Iron Mike!!

Depressing to watch because it was so one sided. Chisora's heart wasn't in it from the start, something was up with him. Definitely not the same fighter who took Vitali Klitschko the distance. I personally think Fury will get beat as soon as he faces any top level competition. Either Klitschko, Haye, Povetkin, and in my opinion Price & Pulev too..Hennessey will know a cash cow when he see's one though, so don't expect any big names while he keeps selling out arena's fighting bums. Eventually they will be pressured into a big fight tho. He wants Adamek next, which sounds about right as he is essentially tiny at the weight, beaten by Chad Dawson at light heavy & TKO by Vitali Klitschko
