Brian and his complicated love life sure created some amazing songs. Small trivia: this song was one of Kurt Cobain's faves. The entire "News of the World" was mentioned by him as one he used to listen on repeat. Brilliant album for sure!

Part of Kurt’s suicide note - “ …. When we’re backstage & the lights go out & the manic roar of the crowd begins .. it doesn’t affect me the way in which it did for Freddie Mercury, who seemed to love, relish in the love & adoration from the crowd which is something I totally admire & envy …. “ ☹️💧

Queen is the only band in the world where every member has written a hit record. The whole band is in the Songwriter's Hall of Fame.

This song deserves the utmost praise and it should be played often! A brilliant song written by our hopeful romantic Brian May! Love Freddie’s vocals here .. it grabs you “hook, line, & sinker”. Loved your reaction! 😁👍

This is a beautiful and sad song written by Brian May. He had a lot of problems in his personal life many of which he blamed himself for and he had a very difficult time with letting go no matter how hopeless things seemed . His life has been so complicated and he tends to write from his heart. Thank you for reacting to this fantastic song.

Queen is literally my favorite band….if you listen to them long enough you can start to tell by listening to the song who wrote that particular song and this is for sure Dr. Brian May. The guitar, the moments of solo guitar, “the noise of rock and roll” is what he loved and said this in an interview. So diverse, and beyond Freddie Mercury, the secret to their success. You can listen to a rock it out written by Brian and then listen to a sweet song like “You’re my best friend” by John Deacon. Or a clever song Radio Gaga by Roger Taylor. Or complicated song, Bohemian Rhapsody by Freddie Mercury. Although, IMO, Freddie crossed music styles more than any of them. ❤️

I checked your playlist & I hope you check out White Queen at Odeon Hammersmith. I think it’s one of their best performances. The entire band is great, but Freddie (with his passionate vocals & outstanding piano) & Brian’s hauntingly beautiful guitar are standouts.

This is one of those songs that took me several listens to ‘get’….I love it so much now. Especially Freddie’s voice. Brian wrote it, but Freddie sings it as though it’s his. “You’re staring at me, suspicion in your eyes”, that bit is perfect!

A great Queen song one of my favorites from “News of the World.”

Awesome reaction! I do agree that Freddie's voice is too low in the mix, and he does amazing singing here. This song features the highest note on a Queen studio album, there is a E6 note from Freddie under the very last guitar solo. I guess since it is a Brain song he was more concerned with having a loud guitar sound then about the vocals. But this is one of my favourite Queen songs, it is just an amazing song.

We don’t have a it of this song live. It’s definitely a fan favorite. I don’t think it was easy for Freddie live. My fave-audio only-is from Detroit ‘77. That whole show is amazing.

One of Queen greatest tracks , to be honest there's more to like as album tracks than the "hits" in my opinion.. It's late Dead on time Prophets song My Fairy king White queen March of the black queen and on and on 👌

It's always great to hear Freddie and the guitar solo is wonderful. I admit, not my favorite song and I'm not completely sure why. It may have something actually to do with the mixing, perhaps? Not a huge fan of the ongoing, It's Late repetitively, it feels forced. But I still loved hearing it and appreciating the parts I enjoyed. You broke it down wonderfully so I could see it more clearly.
