Without a doubt one of my favourite Diana songs! The song became a successful hit across the Dance, R&B and Pop singles charts. I first heard this song during the early-mid 2000's when for a few years "Swept Away" re-entered some recurrent airplay. I love that "Swept Away" was included in one of the Ballroom scenes of "Pose", a series I love! Diana has done other Dance-Rock songs such as "Pieces Of Ice" and "Upfront" both from her 1983 album "Ross."

😲😲😲😲😲 What the what what!? Boston radio played this a lot! I remember her singing this at Boston Garden. She sang Ain't No Mountain High Enough in a gown with a huge white organdy wrap, ran off the stage, and made it back on stage in the tightest, tiniest jeans, knee high high heeled boots and a little white top in time to meet her cue. It was Swept Away she sang then. That is one hardworking talented woman!!!

One of Diana’s most creative videos. The song reached # 19 on Billboard pop chart, number 1 on Billboard dance chart. The extended version of the song and video is powerful! Swept Away the album went gold. I love how she switches so easily from her sultry voice to some growling as the song progresses. Tidbit: she wrote the opening spoken intro to the song. Great guitar work but check out the guitar in her live version of the smash “Mirror Mirror” from Central Park. Hot.

This song was produced by Arthur Baker, who at the time was a big producer and this was his signature sound. He produced Out of Touch by Hall and Oates and many other dance anthems. He was a huge in dance remixes for many singers. This version was from the Dance remix.

Another track of hers from that same era worth checking out is "Chain Reaction" (1985). It features a very catchy '60s girl group/Motown sound and was written by the BeeGees. The official video is a lot of retro fun too. The track went to #1 in the UK and Australia but inexplicably got minimal play in the states (though a dance re-mix a year later fared a bit better).
