Interestingly, "Cheri Cheri Lady" almost didn't get released because Dieter Bohlen wasn't convinced by the song, but Thomas Anders was thrilled when he heard the demo and convinced Bohlen to record it.

Their melodies and voices produced some really catchy tunes, indeed. I liked their album from 2001 as a teenager. They still had those distinctive vocals and the melodies were more modern, yet as moving.

The harmonization among FOUR singers. Dieter Bohlen is a BRILLIANT composer and producer but he never sang on those numerous records he did with Modern Talking and Blue System. The backing vocals belong to the session musicians Rolf Kohler, Michael Scholz and Detlef Wiedecke. Thomas Anders was the leading vocalist in Modern Talkling.

They where massive here in Europe in the 80's from their first album and “You’re My Heart, You’re My Soul” in 85, till the end of the 80's. I think the last 80's hit on the charts was "Jet Airliner". There where weeks with 3 of their songs at the same time in the Top 20. Major 80's hits: “You’re My Heart, You’re My Soul”, “Brother Louie”, "Cheri Cheri Lady", "Atlantis Is Calling (S.O.S. For Love)", "You Can Win If You Want", "Geronimo's Cadillac", "Angie's Heart", "Jet Airliner"..... Personal favorites apart from the hits above: "Let's Talk About Love", "Lady Lai", "Only Love Can Break My Heart", "Give Me Peace On Earth", "Stranded In The Middle Of Nowhere", and many others.....

Yeah , You’re right. But unfortunately nobody remembers they in UK and US in our day. They were huge in Europe and also once reached Top 10 UK single chart in 1986. But I wished more for them in US and UK single charts. In the middle of 80’s.

Their first album was available in the U.S. but had poor sales. I'm one of the few Modern Talking collectors here in the U.S. and I have to practically buy from overseas everytime.
@sanangadjiyev99683 жыл бұрын
@@HipixOFFICIAL It’s nice to hear, I’m a huge fan of Modern Talking from Azerbaijan. The end of 70’s was the dusk of disco style music in America. The new decade brought new styles and Synth-pop in Europe. Although in US musicians practiced Rock, Pop and it was beginning of RnB style (example George Michael’s Faith album 1987). I think US didn’t accept this style of music like Synth-pop. However in Europe, Asia, Japan, USSR and South America Modern Talking have been selling million copies of they music.
@johannrivera98243 жыл бұрын
They were more popular in Europe since United States was busy with the hair bands. The singer gives a gay vibe but he's straight. It was the style plus he's feminine. He was married back then to a model and in this present day he's married to a beautiful blonde and have a kid. I like them a lot!

Check out "Bad Boys Blue", another German 80s hit machine. For example, "You are woman" and "Kisses and Tears". Also "Blue System" (solo project of the blonde guy from Modern Talking) - "My bed is too big" - very catchy tune. Another great euro pop band (Swedish one) from 1980s is Secret Service. Check out their classics "Oh, Susie" and "Ten O'Clock Postman".

The Modern Talking Magic.....the 80s European Magic!😁🎶 People who like a good rhythm always like it! Easy to love and learn,and the rhythm, this is the secret! If they were Americans...the whole world would know them! Of course, the same can be said of other singers! Of course, in the world of the internet, this would be much easier today! It's history!💚 I like that you listen to a lot of European songs! This is very good! I think it's much more interesting for anyone than the well-known American hits, especially for you! Go on! Keep it up! 80s is the real magic: now, tomorrow, next year, decades from now and forever! Congratulations for the 100 000 sub!

To answer you question "What is there to complain about"?: Well, back then my age group (age 11-13) we all really liked their Songs, as they were catchy as hell - but it was terribly uncool to be a fan. I never knew why, but my guess is that Modern Talking was quite cheesy, compared to, say Queen, A-Ha, and other contemporaries, but the main reason was probably that they were uncool to us german kids, because Modern Talking was German. Our Generation did see anything german in Music as uncool. No wonder, considering our rather stiff (and also very uncool) parents. :D As for me, i still like these Songs, but they became terribly repetitive, too similar.
