This is why the TANK AND REBUILD people are insane. It's way too easy to get into that cycle the Raiders were in. That the Browns and Jets have been in. Saints fans whining about the last four years don't sound like people who have a standard of excellence or even know what that means. They just sound insufferable and display a lack of understanding of the league. Fun bit about the Raiders 14 year stretch there: Rich Gannon Kerry Collins Andrew Walter Daunte Culpepper Aaron Brooks Marques Tuiasosopo Rick Mirer Rob Johnson Tee Martin JaMarcus Russell Josh McCown Bruce Gradkowski Charlie Frye JP Losman Jason Campbell Kyle Boller Carson Palmer Terrelle Pryor Matt Leinart Matt Flynn Matt McGloin And they signed Matt Schaub to be the guy to fix it.... Before DC4 showed up at the end of that and started to provide some sense of stability and direction.

But the Saints fans are entitled to have a winning team. They deserve it. 😂😂😂 They had a decent 20 year stretch that was spattered with several 7-9 seasons. They are “used” to winning and will accept nothing less. These shallow minded fans are ridiculous. I really am embarrassed for “Christian” Louisiana.

And Carr is better than every one of those QB’s and Saints fans are booing him. Yea I was there last week. There was a smattering of boos when he was introduced and ran onto the field. The organization had to pipe in applause for all the players to help drown out the boos when Carr is introduced. These people are sick. Carr has consistently been a top 10 QB throughout his career playing with trash teams (including the Saints last year) and playing under 8 different systems in 11 years, and when he has even a modicum of support and stability he is in the MVP conversation, and he gets booed by the silly toxic follow the crowd groupthink fans. They don’t deserve a QB like Carr, but Carr will still excel and give NO his best.

@@BillyRayValentineFCOJ Yea, they think it is easy to get a franchise QB. They must be ignorant of what’s going on in the league. Teams like Chicago and the Jets have been looking for their next franchise QB for decades, the Jets since Nameth. The Saints have a franchise QB now who the 49ers offered two #1 picks for in 2020 and Gruden turned them down. Why? Because the 49ers, Gruden and everyone who knows football knows that a proven veteran franchise QB is more valuable than a crap shoot in the draft. SF the went in to draft their next QB bust. But these clowns, as you say, don’t realize that. And I am really disappointed in these podcasters for not nailing that point and letting these “Karen” fans spout off with little to no rebuke.

James the reason people think the Saints defense played well is because of recency bias. It permeates all of sports as I'm sure you know. They saw the strip sack and the Tyrann INT near the end of the game and that defined the entire day of the Saints defense for the vast majority of people, because those plays were among the last they saw. One could say they CLUTCHED when it mattered and that would be accurate. But as you've covered, they did not play all that well overall.

The raiders have some of the coolest history in the league. You aren't a fan of football if you don't know 60s to 80s raiders. There's a reason the league worshipped the ground madden walked on. And Al Davis changed the game by introducing the deep pass to the game. He's also the only owner to ever stand up to the NFL and win. Many, many, many legends from that franchise. Even with their irrelevance in the last 20 years, the saints franchise pales in comparison. That's how much they dominated. Pretty sure madden is still the most winningest coach in history. Dk that one for sure.

Call me a Carrrdashian, but I just don’t understand this narrative that Derek Carr is a trash QB. When TBob says DC loves nothing more than gloating after a meaningless win, it just rubs me the wrong way. Clearly, if you pay attention, he is an above average quarterback, not elite, who has been saddled with the burden of playing most of his career with the pathetic Raiders franchise, and then stepping into another bad situation, with a fanbase that is twice as salty as the Raiders fan base. I think that is what’s rubbing off on Tbob, and other KZbin commentators. I’ve even seen it rub off on you James. It becomes so infectious that people think they have to feel like they can’t give him credit for his talent. Dude is a good quarterback. Again, not elite, but not deserving of the trashing he consistently receives.

I agree with much of what you said, but I believe Carr is elite. If Carr was drafted by a stable organization like the Chiefs, whom Reid wanted to draft Carr, nobody would be calling Carr mid or trash today. Whenever he had just a modicum of stability in his career he was in the MVP conversation. A mid QB does not have the most game winning drives since 2016 and the best record in OT among active QB’s. A mid QB would not have a seven game stretch from the last 5 games last year to the first two this year. Has any other QB in NFL history ever had such a 7 game stretch? Also, someone recently posted a list of QB rankings considering every passing category and Carr is ranked the 5th and Brees is ranked 3rd. The fact that Carr is even considered mid or trash is testament to the stupidity of people. People tend to just follow the crowd and groupthink.

People that don’t like Carr and are just acting like a bunch of Democrats. They are looking for any word he says to twist and make an excuse not to like him. With the toxic Saints fans it all started with them thinking he was getting paid too much. Then, since DA was the coach who got him and then dared to take up for him that made them hate Carr more. Because you know, these “Christians” hate DA so now they hate Carr. Then they make up stories (just like Democrats) that Carr does not take responsibilities for his mistakes. Then they magnify his mistakes and ignore his accomplishments. These people are pathetic. They are a bunch of groupthink follow the crowd sheeple. I notice the one thing they are saying now is that Carr has a good long ball. Haha. They have to give him something, I guess. I mean you cannot deny that he does not have a good long ball.
