a game that isnt 70 to 69 with under 30 seconds left with all these scorers hall of famers and the 2 best coaches outside of larry brown and pat riley in a 2-2 series....are you kidding me with this score....how do you have shaq and duncan score so well down low in their primes get so many fts and the game is this ugly?...wheres the shooting...the nbas shooting from 1999-2005 was garbage...no role players were good shooters...horry missed 2 huge shots in santonio between 2003-2004...this dude could have won 6 straight titles if he hit those 2 3's in back to back years lol...he got his 7 rings but he could have 8 and stopped the spurs dynasty from starting...horry by missing in game 5 in 2003 ended the lakers dynasty

@billny335 жыл бұрын
Sort of awkward wording to use the word scores when referring to a basket but kind of justified here because of what an unbelievable play it was. I feel like Al said scores because he's so used to calling other sports that use the word much more often and he only did NBA games for 2 years, this being his first.
@TheLocalLt5 жыл бұрын
billny33 “scores” is a pretty common basketball term. How many times have you heard “puts it up off the window and scores!”
@billny335 жыл бұрын
@@TheLocalLt not often. I think Dick Stockton used to say it a lot too way back in the 80s. Puts it off the window and scores I used to hear when playing NBA Live 2000 for my N64 but not too often outside of that.

The NBA's last Great Rivalry. The Lakers and the Spurs. Jackson vs Popovich. Shaq vs Duncan. Kobe vs Manu, Tony and Bowen. California vs Texas. You don't see defensive struggles like this anymore. You wont see a 74 to 73 game again.
@billny335 жыл бұрын
Well Warriors-Cavs turned out to be quite a rivalry in the time since you wrote this comment. But I guess that's over now too. Plus the Dubs getting Durant kind of spoiled it.
@bigstar665 жыл бұрын
KD ruined that by OPing the Warriors. Before that they were damn near even.

Bruh Lakers Vs Suns/Celtics in the late 2000s was also great!
@zeaferjones14044 жыл бұрын
I do think the Lakers and Spurs rivalry is underrated mainly because the Sacramento Kings were the Lakers number 1 nemesis and that clash of Titans in 2000 between the Blazers and Lakers. Although the 01 series between the Lakers and Spurs was a mismatch. In 03 Tony Parker was the first to really destroy that Lakers defense.
@zeaferjones14044 жыл бұрын
@@bigstar66 I disagree, before KD the Cavs had a clear advantage. They lost the series they had Kevin Love and Irving injured and beat the Warriors 3 games in a row to win the series next year. That Golden State team were overachievers until Durant. They were sort of like the Indiana Pacers that played Miami in the ECF. They were good enough to give Lebron a tough series but I don't think they could have beaten him with his team healthy as he beat them 3 games in a row with 2 of those games being at Golden State.

That’s just silly, this game was 15+ years ago. According to Google Maps, it takes 447 hours, or 18 days and 15 hours to walk from San Antonio to Los Angeles. If we go by your assumption that he ran nonstop, he would’ve gotten there in maybe 2 weeks at most.

Gabriel R. Johnson Lakers did not have Malone. Shaq and Kobe were not getting along. Kobe, if I remember correctly, was taking too many wierd and ridiculous shots. As the for the Spurs, yeah they beat the Pistons. BARELY. In a seven game series. Also, they did not have all those problems that the Lakers had. Plus, Manu Ginobli had a big series that year, as he had developed into an all-star.

All the taunts and laughter at me and my girl when Duncan made that last minute shot and it was 0.4 secs left. Even my girl put her head down saying "It can't end this way". Once Fisher made that shot my girl didn't see the play she just noticed everybody in the bar got very quite and one man said "OH HELL NAH...THEY CHEATED! NO NO NO THAT'S BULLSHIT!".
