Life in Motion with Derek Hough to be very successful

Life in Motion with Derek Hough To be on Dancing With The Stars. I'm always dancing and people ask if I went to dance school (which I hadn't) because I am creative and it looks like it was choreographed. I just do what feels right for the song.

i was in the arena the day nastia fell on bars in 2012. it was such a magical moment seeing everyone on their feet cheering for her and supporting her. so special. i love you nastia❤️❤️

Wow, that was a great interview. When Nastia was talking about her Mom hanging her Dad's gold medal next to the picture of the gold medal she would end up winning gave my stomach butterflies. Oh, and if I saw yo falling down the stairs I would have been yelling NOOO! NOOO! too. You're the one my Mom and I always choose to win. We always hope you'll be one of the pro's dancing every season. The vision I have for myself is so simple for other people but I haven't been able to do for 14 years. To not only go but want to go anyplace around people alone.🙏

After watching you dance and listening to you, Derek, for the past few years got me motivated and last fall I started a class so now I have been ballroom dancing for almost a whole year and I am so glad I did it. Thanks Derek!

I've loved watching DWTS ever since I was a little kid, and you were always one of my mom's and my favorite dancers to watch! I always thought going on DWTS would be the absolute coolest thing, and I wanted to learn to dance, but I felt like I would be starting too late to ever be any good, so I really put that on hold. Now that I'm at college, I found a ballroom dance club that I'm joining, and I'm super excited about it!! I'm finally trying something new that I've wanted to do for over ten years!

This is so interesting listening to the beautiful Nastia's personal insights and how her vision board focused her mind toward winning the gold. She is such an inspiration and I'm a huge fan of her gymnastics. I'm also a huge fan of Derek's dancing and choreo but he seems like a manic Tony Robbins wanna-be in this video. I can really relate to not knowing that you have broken a bone. I recently ended up having hip surgery because I had managed to break my femur all the way through, after sustaining what they think was most likely a stress fracture caused by an over-use injury from working out so much. I remember it feeling sore while I was out for a run and thinking it was a pulled muscle or something, but later in the week while I was just doing ordinary errands I turned around, pivoted on the boo-boo leg, and totally messed it up. They think the only reason I did not fall down in the store is that my muscles are so strong, but I did start to sweat inside an air-conditioned building which was an indication that things were not right. So I am now trying to be patient, as It has been not quite 3 months and I still have a pronounced limp, but it surprises people when they see how far along I am and not even using a cane anymore. I credit getting a lot of exercise before that happened - I was into yoga, pilates, HIIT, and running. I've gotten to the point where I can do some of the yoga (I have to modify a lot of it), and I am more conscious now of using my core and strengthening my lower back and quads, but I am coming along. One of the most challenging parts of this whole experience was having to lie still in bed or sit and do nothing, and be okay with that. It made me aware that part of me always wants to be doing something all the time so I can avoid really thinking, and I get busy becoming a human doing instead of a human being. Not sure what I would put on my vision board; I will have to meditate on that. I have a lot of time to relax these days.

Next Lifetime: DANCER, FOR SURE. I Know I was, probably in Many lives before, otherwise these things wouldn't have been used in this one as motivations, creative outlets & 'rejuvenators' throughout my years of education: Tap @ 5yo, baton captain in middle school, cheerleading in HS, ballet & gymnastics through College/Nursing school. I CANNOT keep my body still when it 'hears'/FEELS great rockin' tunes.. Impossible! Very often I'd get up & dance in my LR during certain inspiring dances on DWTS- fo sho any of your stuff, plus Mark's Amazing jams w/ Kristy Y. & Shawn J. Please know, you guys brought me out of a Very dark time after total exhaustion & depression/despair from raising a son with autism. Years ago in my community there was a class where we made visual boards. (A picture is worth a thousand words.). There were about 9 goals on my board. It took a few years; but, because i could SEE my goals (we used magazine pictures) they were kept in forefront of my mind and each one got accomplished. It really works. Derek, sounds from the comments, that you’re getting to be good like Anthony Robbins, at motivating others to reach their passions. Also, in this day of competitiveness, so nice to see a loyal friendship, as yours with Mark.

My vision board would be to be ballet critic for a major news organization as ballet is the love of my life. But I would only review the dancers that left me feeling something special. I do not have the heart to write negatively about a dancer. There are so many amazing dancers but very very few who are gifted with something that goes way beyond technique . Many dancers have moments of brilliance but few are brilliant dancers. Example: gelsey Kirkland and misha Baryshnikov Such a positive person derek😇😇😇🙏🏻

You both are terrific athletes and people. Keep up the great work! For me, Mikhail Baryshnikov aka Misha popularized Russian or Ukranian nicknaming practices in the 1980's so learning Nastia was Russian just prior to the 2008 Olympics, I assumed her name was also a diminutive.

I would just like to share a moment with you from my goddaughter's life and goals. She was always wanting to dance with you, Derek. Since she was good friends with one of the stars on DWTS, she was offered an introduction to you and a visit to the set. However, she tried to always succeed on her own and never took her friend up on his offer. Until she was engaged and ready to start a new chapter in her life. She ended up with tickets for the show and was going to accept the introduction to you that she always dreamed of. Now, this lady was a success in a field that successes come hard in. Financially, she was on the top of her game. But her goal was still... "I'm going to dance one dance with Derek Hough.". Everything was in place for her culmination of her life goal... Until her heart gave out just before her 40th birthday. But if she hadn't had that goal to share a dance with you.... I have always wondered if she would ever have achieved the success and happiness she did. You inspire so many people, Derek. Even though you probably never know it. Thank you for giving my goddaughter the vision of success and the ability to achieve it. All, that is, but her last dance... 😘💕
