Derek Johnstone was one of my favourite players when I was growing up, he was a great header of the ball.

Tom Craig physiotherapist..Derek was treated like my dad's 3rd child ..how we were blessed by his genius from 16 years of age ..like the rest of dad's and Jocks squad they were the best ...the fittest squad in that generation .

He must have created some kind of record in 1977/78. He scored in 3 consecutive games at Hampden Park in just over a week. The Scottish Cup Final v Aberdeen, Scotland v Northern Ireland and Scotland v Wales - all headers.

So similar to Ally in that he didn't score spectacular (Ronaldo) type goals. As a penalty box player, awesome. GSTQ

Super player look at the range of his goals from all over the place right foot, left foot, head and remember he could defend too, he was the John Charles of his day
