Well, Derek did record with piano legend McCoy Tyner on the album, “Guitars.” Derek recorded along with Jack DeJohnette and Ron Carter. I wish he would do more jazz today. The band is set up to do that.

there is definitively not enough jazz Trucks. With the expanded harmonic language of jazz, with its extraordinary tone and phrasing, Derek could be a monster (even if he is already a giant). Thanks for posting !
