I’m more of a Chevy guy myself (owned a Pontiac G8 GT and now a 5th Gen ZL1) but the GT350 is a car on my “definitely wanna own someday” list. I think getting the GT350 over another Mach 1 is definitely the move man.

I have a gen 1, 2017 GT350 with now 50k miles. Best decision I’ve ever made fun car on the track and fun to drive on the street. Just let her warm up and check oil often.

100%!!! I have a G1 GT350 and the engine has been flawless. I've ripped on it to redline for over 20k miles now. Not sure why people think the G1's are so unreliable and the G2's are the second coming of Jesus. I've seen plenty of people in the FB groups that passed on G1's to get a G2 only to have them pop. F'cking cracks me up when I hear people talk about how much more reliable the G2 is. As you said, I think a lot of people fail to routinely check the oil, or they over fill the oil when they do check it, or they don't let it get up to operating temp before taking it to redline, etc. Basically everything they are instructed to do in the supplemental GT350 manual. And, if you don't do the same things in the G2, they'll blow just as easy.

@ yea for me I check the oil every other day after driving. I let the car sit 15 min after turning it off then check my oil. For my car I would say it loses 1qt every 1500 miles if that. It’s been an amazing car and will be seeing more track time this year

Got this exact car a couple months ago, but in Orange. Do not regret it one bit, this car straight up slaps. Tinted windows on it, and put a Steeda H pipe with a resonator delete. Car is damn near perfect haha. Enjoy buddy.

The 2015-2020 GT350/GT350R's are great cars. I owned a 2020 R and checked the oil every time before a drove it. I also let it warm up to operating temp before a went a drove it. The voodoo is a great motor but you just have to take care of it. I think that is the problem with some of them is they weren't broke in properly or driven a little hard before up to temp. Otherwise I never had a problem with mine. The 350/350R is probably one of the most balanced mustangs from factory. They are a blast to drive.

The 2016 tech package only has no trans or diff cooler. But it does have an oil cooler. 2016 track pack and all 2017+ have trans and diff coolers.

I have a 2020 fully optioned out gt350 and I’ve daily driven it for the last 3 years, 55k miles and I have loved every single second in the car, I had a 2018 gt 10spd and the shelby is just perfect stock, you are right on wanting the recaros with tech pack for sure, I hope you get one and enjoy it!

Great video man. If I can only give one piece of advice, it would be to check the oil often like Rich said. This is regardless of what year you get. All years of the Voodoos use a little oil, it's just the nature of these engines. Good luck man and can't wait to see the build.
