@Karen Weber, keep listening to Derek Prince and you will realize we need the Spirit to help us get those things out of us. Because we can't on our own, we need the Spirit first and then we can get those things out. And most of things He takes out without you knowing it. You just don't desire them anymore, that's how know you got the Spirit of God, you feel different, think different, and places you would go to, you know longer desire, but things that pleases God. Part 10- How to open up to the Holy Spirit • There are conditions laid out in the scripture to receive the fullness of Holy Spirit. • Repent and be baptized. (Acts 2:38) • Ask the heavenly Father. (Luke 11:9-13) • Be thirsty, Come to Jesus, Drink. (John 7:37-39) • Our body is the temple of Holy Spirit. We are required to offer our parts of body as instruments for his service. (I Corin 6:19, Romans 6:13) • Tongue needs special help to tame it. First member Holy Spirit takes control is the tongue. (James 3:8) • Every time people were filled with Holy Spirit in New Testament, there were some utterances from their mouth. They spoke in Tongues, prophesied, and sang songs. • When heart is filled with overflow, it will take place through mouth in speech. (Matthews 12:34)

When you repent, you ARE baptized with the Holy Spirit. All through Scripture, it says no works! Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart God raised Him from the dead and you will be saved. It says! Yes, he tells us to get baptized, but not as a condition for Salvation or Holy Spirit dwelling in us.The thief on the cross wasn’t baptized once He believed.

Our Lord God gifts one the Holy Spirit when you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and make Him your Lord and King in your life. NO MAN CAN/HAS TO OPEN UP THE THE HOLY SPIRIT IN ANY WAY IN ONE'S LIFE !!! One has to just be listening constantly and hear His voice leading you teaching you IN ALL WISDOM. So it is written in THE WORD OF GOD. Do you read anywhere that Jesus said that man has to do anything "to open up the Holy Spirit within you"! No He told His disciples to wait in the upper room. Also before He ascended into heaven Jesus said that He will send us the Comfortor and He will leead is in ALL TRUTH. Anything outside of JESUS'S WORDS AND DEEDS IS WRONG!
