Is sounds to me that “Independence from God” is similar to our “Free Will”. We have a receiver problem. Like being on the wrong radio frequency… we need to tune in every day and hear Gods voice. Let thy will be done. I feel so distracted by the world most the time. But I’m working on listening better. Asking I should say… Lord what should I do? In my Bible it says God created Adam on the 6th day after all the earth was formed and after all the animals were created then God created the garden of Eden and made the 5 rivers flow from it. Then God carried Adam from where he had made I’m in the west to the east and put him in the garden. Then God had all the animals come to Adam for him to name them. Then God saw that it was not good for man to be alone so God took adams rib and made a helpmate for him. Adam named her woman. So after the woman sinned and gave to her husband and God cursed them and banished them from the garden then Adam called her eve because Eve means mother of all people

As with ninety nine percent of pulpit teachings, this one ends in generality. God created man to think and reason. God did not make us as robots, programmed to respond at the push of a button, otherwise, God will get bored of us. While He has laid down our path (Psalm 90), He has given man freedom to choose to do what he should choose to do. There are only two sides to doing, God's way or the " against God's way." Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your understanding means we listen to God Who knows the outcome of the act we are about to do. If you eat of the fruit, you will die. Is eating the fruit beneficial? Yes, you will know good and evil, but in the end, you will forfeit everlasting life in God. If you sell drugs, tobacco, firearm etc, you can be very rich. But you will be against the law in which you will live afraid. God wants us to live independent and reasoning. What God says will ruin us, we must not do. It's common sense. When God says it's wrong, then it is wrong. When we experiment beyond what God has already said is wrong, that's when we sin. We must see things on the side of God. Satan will always do his wicked best to question the good. And he makes it look and sound he is right. But Satan is a big ignoramus, he cannot seem to learn thru his mistake. If we listen to him, we will end up like he is, irredeemable. How about you?

You made the same mistake as Adam. You think your human reasoning is as good or better than what God can do. Scripture tells us "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding." Now that does not mean we turn off our minds. We are also to "Study to show yourself approved, ...rightly dividing the Word of Truth." We should be seeking to know God, to know His will, to obey Him in all things, not to reason everything out. Salvation as provided for by Jesus defies ALL human reason. Trust God, not your own mind and heart. We are told our hearts are deceitful and desperately wicked, and who can know it? May God show you today how unreliable our own hearts are, how flawed and not like God is our own reasoning.

You are right! Neither your or my human thoughts, ideas and reasoning are righteous before God. He must direct us and not ourselves (Proverbs 3:5-6.) following our human thoughts. We can color coat with words, reasoning to show " I am better than you ", and before God we are in essence condemning each other. And that is a sin. None of us are better, neither you nor I. What we must be careful with is teaching the scripture in error for our lack of deeper meditation (Psalm 1:1-2) on God's word. Sorry that I offended you for correcting Derek Prince. I do not edify man so that I should offend anyone who worship him. My position is to set straight what he teaches so that those who listen are not led to the wrong path. Our teaching is to guide in the right way. Have you considered well what I've written? Read again before you condemn. Derek Prince is one well verse teacher in human language and ways. But no human teacher, no matter how eloquent his word delivery is, should be taken at face value. We must test that teaching against the originator's words. And I implied this in my comment. It's the man's teaching, not the man. No man is perfect. I encourage you to obey God's instruction in Psalm 1:1-2. This will help you further your knowledge in everything God want you to be. You're on the right path. Obey Psalm 1:1-2 and you will fully understand what the bible teaches.
