Years ago, over twenty actually I was in a store on Oxford street. I accidentally misjudged where the queue ended and I pushed in in front of Dave. When someone else started remonstrating with me, Dave saw I was heavily pregnant and said, you stay there treacle. He stopped all the Aggro with a smile.

To what degree is any gangster not a bullshitter. I think your question is naive. Has Dave Courtney gotten up to criminal activities, shot people, robbed and more. Absolutely. To what extent has he done those things? Only he and his close friends and the cops really know. He has big fucking balls and makes us laugh. I like him. I wouldn't like to've come up against him either not then not now.

This chap started out at 15 boosting cars and fighting to the death. In America we call that Grand Theft and child abuse. I feel sorry for this nice, tormented man. He is 100% correct about losing a fight or life struggle and coming back better and stronger. Not to ever give up even when you lose. That is why he was successful at whatever he touched. If you can take a loss in life and learn something, you're always going to do better the next time.

That bent cop Dave mentions told everyone he was in for a Million Pound Fraud involving stolen computers. He befriended lower class prisoners like heroin addicts etc so he was never alone on the wing or exercise yard. One day, he says hes being 'ghosted' (moved swiftly) for no apparent reason: In actual fact, it turned out there was a Dave Courtney documentary being broadcast that evening which blew his cover. I remember watching it, seeing a couple of pics of this bent cop and thinking 'It looks like him, but I need to see his teeth..' When another pic clearly showed his crooked smile, the entire wing erupted: Doors rattling, threats being made... in the morning he was already gone. Because like so many others of his breed he has made money out of being a bully. He was a debt collector but rarely worked alone unless threatening people who could never stand up to him like kids or the elderly. Dumbest thing is that he has made documentaries detailing some of these exploits. He also tells big lies which are easy to see through. For example he claims to be an associate of the kray twins when he was actually 9 years old when the twins were sent to prison for 30 years each and never got out..

If you sell drugs for a living then you will have countless "friends " who in reality would shit on you in a fucking heartbeat.

If you want the real deal Shaun you should try and interview Freddie Foreman. He’s getting on now and probably doesn’t have long left, but he’s the guy that everyone respects. The only man the Kray twins would listen to. Out of all the underworld figures he seems to be the one that no one has a bad word to say about. Not loud, brash, fake or in your face. A proper old school gangster who got things sorted and got rid of people if necessary. He’s seen as the godfather of London crime.
