We find the derivative of tanx^2 with the chain rule, tan^2x with the chain rule, and tan2x also with the chain rule. Just for kicks, we also differentiate a more complicated composite trig function at the end. #apcalculus #calculus1
Derivative of sin(x^2), sin^2(x), and sin(2x) with Chain Rule: • Derivative of sin(x^2)...
Derivative of cos(x^2), cos^2(x), and cos(2x) with Chain Rule: • Derivative of cos(x^2)...

In the last question last part , how did u know that tan theta is an inside fuction and e^tantheta is outside function ?

Think about the two possibilities. If f(x) = e^x is the outside function, it's clear what is being plugged in. It must be that x is tan(theta). On the other hand, if tan(theta) is the outside function, what must theta be so that tan(theta) is actually e^tan(theta)? This yields no easy answer.
