I think probably is. Massa would be the other top contender for me but she's not quite as great as she was after the introduction of Brandenburg and the German battlecruisers. I still havent played her post buff but always thought she was a very solid ship bordering on very good pre buff. Just a great all around ship...jack of all trades, master of none.

Monarch is very strong contender now as a great GXP pick as well as Flandre as you mentioned. I used to use a Nelson build albeit with some minor tweaks from what you have. That being said, I have changed that for a Fisher build that I have been using for the Marlborough. You get to keep some of the accuracy at the cost of losing Marksmanship (unless one uses his 3rd row skill for the extra range and dispersion) The key, however, is the row 2 skill which decreases the reload/turret traverse the more one takes damage and with this ship being quite tanky (in addition to great heals) it makes it quite deadly the more you lose health (with epic mod and around 10-15% health reload was 16-17s at one particular match)

@@DerkaGames Good call on Flandre. I need to revisit her too. If I recall her secondaries dont really pen anything but set fires galore? The one thing that always bothered me with both Massa and Flandre is that while you could have a full secondary build and be very competitive, I never felt either ship performed quite as well as full accuracy.

This ship can be an absolute menace to put down. If you stay mobile and angled it can tank BB AP, and if you can get people to shoot HE at you by staying angled it can be near impossible to burn down. Can be an absolute asset for any blue team with its crazy staying power because of those monster heals if u know how to battleship properly. DONT SLEEP ON THIS SHIP!!!

Idk, ever since the Lion was released, it felt as if Monarch had no reason to exist. Even now, the Lion is an exact copy of Monarch, but with better overmatch and superior AA. She just powercraped Monarch, not because Monarch is necessarily lackluster, but because Lion is just stupidly powerful. What I don’t know is whether they have the same gun angles, since they’re both supposedly a development of the KGV class.

Lion has trash gun angles, Monarch seems better in that regard. Plus its DPM is considerably higher. I see a case for both

Monarch was my first GXP ship and i didn’t even pay anything for it, got it out of a Super Santa Create i had gotten from the campaign at the time. Having said that i enjoy palying her from time to time, even before the buff.

Monarch was an underrated ship before imo, but now i think we'll see a Champagne case where the ship got buffed so much but players still doesn't play or doesn't know A 22 second reload can't be laughed at anyway

I’d go Massachusetts as the best T7 GXP battleship. Very friendly, easy to use. But champagne right behind it, it’s abit more niche and suits playing at distance and setting up cross fires but if you get that good position you catch so many people out and it shreds

For monarch I like to stay back and shoot HE from 19km. when there’s less enemy’s I rush in. One time I even dev strike a full health hawk. He didn’t see it coming great vid love your channel

Hey there Derka, Regarding your brief commentary on French battleships, is there a better marriage in WoW Legends than a French battleships & AL Dunkerque? It would be hard to find one that is better or at least more advantageous. French battleships offer speed (as a long-time Forza Motorsports player, I enjoy fast vehicles) they possess a very low reload, and with a leveled-up AL Dunkerque you get almost instantaneous shell-switching. That's a recipe for binge-playing French battleships from Tier 5 through Legendary. Regarding the Monarch I'm surprised by this extraordinary buff but it was needed. I purchased the Monarch for 750k global xp over two years ago, because I had all of the other global xp ships accept for the Monarch & Gascogne. And since every content creator on KZbin at that time strongly disliked Gascogne (the turret configuration being one of the popular and enduring criticisms) and the community appeared to agree by a landslide...so i bought the Monarch. I haven't played the pre-buff Monarch very much. When I have, oddly, I've had good to very good games in the damn thing for reasons unknown to me, however I will be reevaluating this ship now, and I think I will enjoy it with a greater sense of appreciation. As for the Gascogne I would eventually get it in a Xmas crate in early January '22 and sell it 6 months later. I regret that now. If Metajerk taught me anything it was that the Gascogne can be a very good ship which he proved with demonstrable evidence.

Monarch. What a great ship. I won it from a crate but never touched it,! I tried it today and first game 130 K DMG and it was just an average battle. Nice build also. I went for Nelson but I might try madden too

I love the AA on Kii! My go to BB at Tier7 in a division with a carrier using the AA mod in the 4th slot. She's a juicy target for carriers so you get a lot of opportunity to shoot aircraft and she shreds!

I love the ship and this update has made it better than lion as top 7 british battleships. I use queen elizabeth with Italian reload and fisher. So my reload is under 20 seconds. Also I agree use the heal skill.

I just got to 2 million GXP. I could get the Russian Cruiser but I am thinking about finishing up some lines to bypass grinding. I have Tirpitz and Mass. so getting another tier 7 GXP right now low on the list. Also not a big BB player so I understand what you are saying about not being a big BB player. :D

Well it's safe to say it's better than Vanguard Now. But there's only 2 Premium tier Vll British BBs LION/Monarch and I hope they don't plan on bringing back Lion for Christmas. When it already exists at tier 8 but with an option for Bigger Guns. So definitely nobody needs to waste their money.

I main British BBs and I've switched over to the new Battlecrusier commander on everything including Monarch. Idk why but my BBs have better accuracy with him than Nelson and I run the same inspirations. So, I fully recommend leaning hard into him for everything. As far as Monarch, it's better now but I wouldn't say she's worth the GXP. Vanguard is still better and cost zero GXP. Just get Vanguard. Now if they released Lion for GXP that may take the prize from Vanguard but even after the buff Monarch is still just okay. If I were to pick a GXP BB to suggest it would probably be Champaign. Super accurate 16-inch French guns are very very fun, she just doesn't have plot armor like the other French BBs

You know, now that I've been playing cruisers I could almost swear that cruiser ap does more consistently high damage than BB ap. Like with BBs I can send a salvo and get a lot of over pens and misses when not broadside. But cruisers I just get shatters or pens

Lion has bigger guns more alpha and pen (but much less DPM), better heals and HP. Honestly I'd have to deep dive it. But atm I would take Monarch out over Lion

Different playstyles. Massa has long range secondary’s, 9 x strong 406s, agile, slow but tanks. Monarch has small main caliber guns, relies more on HE spam and big heals to stay alive

The monarch has one of the dumbest heals. Using the new commander maxed out has a 90,000 potential in the 4 heals. Vanguard has almost 80k.

Was good before the buff and good now. The average BB players just don’t know how to use more than one shell type which you need to do here. And AL Nelson is the only valid BB commander. If F2P is the only option, find a part time job.

Fisher is more than viable now. Gets the range out to 20km, has the accuracy perks and master mechanic and also increases reload speed and turret traverse when you lose health.
