Make sure your face is dry especially after your shower/bath . Try a layer of face oil (jojoba’s good) first than tretinoin than moisturizer.

If you have sensitive skin avoid using tret with lactic acid , it’s either one or the other , just avoid tret for now until your skin adjusts to exfoliation I recommend glycolic acid it’s really good as well but if ur a beginner then get it a low percentage

@@jackiep2042 I know this will sound stupid but how do you apply it and someone told me to put it on over moisturizer to act as a buffer but I think that might make it penetrate deeper wouldn’t it? I’ve never used to chemical exfoliation, so I’m kind of nervous, but the texture of my skin is pretty bad.

Can someone let me know if stopping tretinoin completely is okay or should i still wear it 2-3 times a week..? I used to have horrible adult acne and started using tretinoin last year. My skin cleared up in months thankfully but it irritates my skin more than to my liking so i stopped using it and changed my skincare routine to minimal. Hmmm facial hair, do you have pcos that might be causing the facial hair? Never heard of tret causing facial hair growth but most likely that would be hormonal

I’m finishing up on month 3 with my Tret. The purging finally subsided almost 3 weeks ago and I’ve added a low dose of Azelaic Acid during the day. Which has literally been a GAME CHANGER. Anyways, I did the sandwich method the first 2 months of Tret. While I was happy, I was also seeing better results with my regular retinol prior to me starting Tret. I felt like my skin was less plump and glowy with the sandwich method than it used to be. Now of course, my acne was still there. But since I stopped doing the sandwich method I have been achieving the ultimate results. And I believe it’s because I worked myself up to that point and got my skin ready for it!

Why not mix? Mixing with moisturizer works well for me, because I have tret gel and extremely dry skin, and the gel will dry before it’s even been spread out completely if I don’t mix w moisturizer.

No offences but Bro I hate when doctors act like they know everything. It’s my personal experience when I was using tretinoin. My skin used to be so sensitive to sunlight and used to become more dark if I don’t cover adequately. Tretinoin works amazing but you gotta take extra care when you are going for a vacation in hot and dry area. Listen to your body and do accordingly.

I have been using adapalene + benzoyl peroxide for few months but suddenly my skin cannot seems to tolerate it? I get those tiny little pimples everywhere which develops later to tiny white heads / pimples and the skin is red and irritated, I don't know what caused it since I never reacted to anything like this before and not even when I first started using adapalene + benzoyl peroxide few months ago, do you know the reason?

Retinol bassicaly peels thin layer of yr old skin each time you use it. New skin is much more photosensitive. So yeah, its better looking and worth it only with sunscreen, otherwise yll be triple times more in danger with only retinol and not using sun protection. In another words: choose sun or wrinkles but not both 😅

@@bloodygirl6912 no harm to use it I wish I discovered it at 26!!!! Keeps your skin lovely 😀 I would start very very veryyyy slow. Probably start with a 0.025 once a week for few weeks, then if your skin ok with increase to twice a week. At night only and definitely wear SPF every single day without fail this is very very important! Gradually increase till you can use daily if you wish, or one day on one day off or whatever your skin tolerates. Don’t push it honestly your skin will know how much it can handle forcing it will cause massive issues. If your skin is ok with that use up that tube and move on to the next strength and do the same again working your skin up to more frequent use. You may peel a bit to start with I was fine with that and it stopped once I adjusted. But if you don’t want the peeling just slow it down a bit. Never put on eyelids and be careful under eyes; some can but I can’t use it here, I have a gentle eye cream with retinol for the under eye. Also don’t use AHA/BHA on evening you use tret. I learned the hard way!!! Make sure you have a lovely rich moisturiser for evenings you use tret. Good luck don’t rush, no need to rush your a spring chicken lol.. go very very slow used correctly it’s an amazing ingredient for your skin x

But there are places to get it online I think - you can source it -google retin A-uk. (Or google retin-a and country you live)It’s a cream in a tube. You only need a pea size amount it lasts ages. I’ve never purchased in uk.
