Good video! I also follow Dr. Dray and she says that if a retinol is working for you sometimes there is no need to “upgrade” to a higher strength not everything is about just trying to get the highest strength/percentage of a product.

Yeah I was relieved hearing this when I found out because I don't want to use something strong or super strong when I don't actually NEED to. My problem is acne (I'm not sure if hormonal or not), clogged pores, some discoloration/superficial scars from said acne, and some sensitivity. It's hard to not want to try things other people are just because you want their results 😬 I'm trying to start from the beginning and work my way up as needed. It'll take years but I don't see any other way.

@lelalu101 I appreciate this and the update! It seems tret is something that is a quick go-to 'solution'. This bugs me because it's not for everyone, yet some drs rather spend less time getting to know your skin and just want you out the door (which is how it seems sometimes)

@@Coffeeandtypos while I absolutely agree that it does seem to be a go to Too Often, I am a bit of an odd bird. I have PCOS acne so she also upped my Spiro and added a clindamycin/Benzoyl peroxide topical as well. It was the last thing we discussed due to my deep scarring and extremely pale skin. If everyone got that kind of care we would probably go to the derm as an earlier option than spending thousands on skincare 😤💕 I might ask to switch to adapelene depending on how the next few months go!

Then get a course of laser treatments and it will vanish. My dermatologist is nice enough to tell me, wait till your hormones are done. Don't get any procedure now. Tretinoin can be used with care, and most dermis don’t tell their patients how to properly use it. Wait 30 MINUTES after cleansing face to use it to allow your normal oils to come back up. This helps protect the skin. Use ONLY 1/2 of a pea size for your entire face. I use it twice a week, have used it for over thirty years, am 75, and have terrific, smooth skin. I use 0.05. Great video. Just remember: wait 30 minutes.

what if I use a moisturizer before applying tretinoin? also, 1/2 pea size seems not enough
@maxhall20864 ай бұрын
@@jonesb80jr You can do that to help buffer it. Someone people do a "retinol sandwich" and put moisturiser, retinoid, moisturiser. I think it really depends on your skin, your tolerance levels and skin sensitivity. You can phase the pre-moisturiser out when you've used for a while, probably. I personally use a small amount of the Cosrx snail power mucin, it helps buffer and contains ingredients that help soothe the skin.

Not sure if you're using the 1 or the 3 percent adapolene. If you're using 1 percent, you can move up to the 3, however you do need an Rx for it. Adapolene is going to be a better choice for the adult acne since that is what it's main purpose is. It does also help with aging skin. the cerave cleanser you mentioned does have salicylic acid which is an active, and is used for exfoliation, therefore if it is used on a regular basis on the face it can be irritating (i’ve dealt with that same issue). This specific cleanser i belive is best used just on the body, especially during the winter, i used to get a couple dry patches on my arm that this cleanser paired with a nourishing moisturiser really helped with. So even though i’m not an expert i don’t think that the cerave retinol would be specifically irritating because of this especially as long as you make an effort to maintain your skin barrier healthy (by moisturising regularly and wearing sunscreen daily, but if not, at least the day after you’ve applied the retinol). Hope this helped! :)

Why did retinol give me orange peel texture and now these large pores connect to form wrinkles? My skin hasn’t recovered from this damage. Hundreds document damage on Reddit and other beauty forums. Can this be fixed?

Great video! Any recommendations on cruelty free products? All the big brands in your video lock animals in cages for testing

Cerave is owned by Loriel and they do not test on animals

Why all retinods suddenly stop working? I used many brands and types and they work in few months then after that they make my skin so irritated. I can't use them long term. What baffles me is why do I get irritation after using them after months and not when I was still beginning to use them?

I was using tretinion 0.05% for almost a month now and it shows good development to my skin? My cystic acne are not too active anymore but there are few still coming out. Is it possible if I switch to adapelene?

Would it be a good choice to switch to adapelene? I have so many scars thou.

The strongest is the best. Treninoine 0.05% twice a day every single day for me. It may be too much for beginners but for me. I am smooth darling.

where can i buy tretinoin?
@JAYJAY-ch4ik Жыл бұрын
You cannot buy it. Tretinoin is purely prescription only

You can get it from China without a prescription but I don't know if the quality is good. I used tretinoin from China but I used it for hyperpigmentation and it didn't work and yet most people say I look young so I guess it was working with anti aging.

Can you use both? I use Tretinoin 0.05% at night and Diferrin Adapaline 0.1 during day with no irritation or side effect yet?
