Prior to these materials I had never even heard of Cutaneous larvae migrans. However, I definitely saw it on the PANCE. Thank you Katy!

As always, what an awesome review! Your videos help me consolidate the info I get from lecture in a much more methodical and organized way. THANK YOU! Just wondering if you could clarify the difference (if there actually is one) between a bacteria being a normal commensal organism and it colonizing a part of the body? You mentioned in the abscess section that S. aureus is usually found in the normal skin flora, but in some individuals can colonize the nasal cavity and therefore increase the risk for opportunistic infection. In those individuals, would S. aureus be considered a normal part of their normal nasal flora? Micro isn’t my strong suit, so I just wanna make sure I’m following you correctly and not overcomplicating it for myself by getting tripped up on terminology!😅 Thank you in advance! 29:23

Thank you for such a sweet note. You made my day! Staph aureus is part of every human normal skin and nasal flora. But methicillin resistant staph aureus is a particularly virulent strain. It is easily spread by contact and so healthcare workers are at high risk for this, since it is commonly present in healthcare environments. If anyone is immunocompromised, for example, on chronic steroids, or cancer, they are unable to fight off infections with S. aureus and will be at highest risk for developing abscess or cellulitis. I’m happy to explain further if that doesn’t clarify.

Hi, thanks for your excellent dermatology review! For the second part, which package should I purchase? Is Video included?
@katyblairconner
@katyblairconner 11 ай бұрын
Hello! Thanks for your sweet note! The second part of the video is included on all of the packages. There are three different options. One is just the video, the second is the video plus a didactic level test, the third option is the video plus a board level test.

You meant 6-8 weeks of resolution for Pytiriasis Rosea correct? I think you said months.
@katyblairconner
@katyblairconner Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your question. Yes 6-8 weeks typically, however, some cases can take up to six months to self resolve.
