I don't know if anyone will read this, but I want to share my story. 2 years ago I realized that I started falling in love with my long-distance friend. I've never seen him in real life, he lives in Dublin, I live far away from Ireland, we speak different languages... I never even thought he would fall in love with me too and tried to hide my feelings because I didn't want to lose a friend. One night he shared Dermot Kennedy's song ("An Evening I Will Not Forget") with me and mentioned that it was "more than just a song...", and when I listened to it for the first time, my heart filled with that magical warm feeling I can't even describe... It gave me hope and strength, and a few days later I suddenly told him about my love. And he said he was madly in love with me, but tried to hide it... It was the night I will never forget. A lot of things happened. We planned to meet this year in June and go together to Dermot's concert in St. Anne's park on our first date. But unfortunately this pandemic happened, the world started falling apart and we had to cancel our plans. Dermot's songs will always be "our" songs no matter what...
