I was thinking exactly this. I'm from NY, but I cherish Ireland in the way he cherishes the U.S... But also, the way he says he misses the Irish air, trees, and dirt at the end of the video... I don't blame him. It's such an incredible place to visit, I can't imagine having grown up there with such beauty all around. I love my hometown, one of my favorite places on earth, but Ireland is truly something special.

Dude, you are without a doubt an amazing person. I've had one of the lowest times of my life this year. Your music helped me through it. I listen to your album over and over repeatedly for months. I had the privilege of seeing Dermot perform at Red Rocks Amphitheater the other night and it was one of the most incredible concert experiences I’ve had throughout a lifetime of attending live performances of various musicians and genres. COVID-19 pushed the concert date back a year, but it was worth the wait. I definitely recommend!

I loved this!! As an American, I absolutely agree there are so many gorgeous, inspiring places across this vast continent... I've lived & traveled all over this land, it taught me a lot, as did traveling to other countries, I especially love the Carribean, BUT Dorothy said it right when she said "There's no place like home!!" My bf & I were just talking about this bc, tho we were from different states, we live along the same river valley, & we've been all over, but our love & passion for our region, the rivers, creeks, & mountains, there's truly nowhere that feels quite like home. I'd love to visit Ireland & England, where my ancestors came from, but I also have ancestors that were Native Americans, & Idk if I'd ever feel @ home anywhere on this planet that isn't this very river valley, in the Appalachian Mtns. Thanks for making such inspiring music & for sharing your personal journey!!
