Many thanks for this Dr McColl, very helpful. Could I please ask a question relating to melanocytes. They have a clear cytoplasm and this is how I generally first spot them in the basal layer. However, the difficulty I am encountering is distinguishing melanocytes from basal keratinocytes which undergo vacuolar degeneration in interface dermatitides. Is it fairly easy to distinguish one from the other? I don't know if I'm missing something obvious here. Thanks.
