He's learned a lot from JD Martinez who has also helped him with his mental approach.

I'm so happy the Mets had a bad start to their year because they were able to keep Vientos in the big league and ride with him. Kudos to Vientos for working hard on his defense and offense.

He wasn't getting a full shot last year. He platooned with Daniel Vogelbach.

dont even say that name

@@jpcoqueran Don't say it three times in a row ... otherwise he appears and terrifies you. That said, Vientos wasn't "there" yet last season. He came up this year more ready to hit ... and he has absolutely taken advantage. Love Vientos. Excellent hitter, and a guy who has turned himself into a solid 3b.

Incredible that now this dude, SOTO (and he probably don't even know VIENTOS is this good), plus LINDOR are all on the same team AND this is if ALONSO don't eventually resigns with them!!! DeRo is onto something for sure. LGM!!

LFGM! The early scouting reports for the MLM Top Prospects list said Vientos could be a Manny Machado type offensive player. Vientos started at SS & while he doesn’t have the smooth defensive prowess of Machado he isn’t a liability in the field. He shifted to 3B where is lack of range won’t get exposed like at SS. He’s been excellent at 3B & has even dazzled with some sparkling defensive plays there. I was hoping that Baty would put it together but glad Vientos has blossomed in his stead. We frankly needed Vientos’ power bat in the lineup. Vientos just has that innate ability to barrel the ball. He’s an emerging superstar. Baty still has a chance to put it all together as he has big power but I think he has pressed too much. Baty is only 24 & could move to 2B. We’ll see. We have a lot of talented prospects with rarefied power & speed abilities rising fast through the system. SS Jett Williams, 2B Luisangel Acũna, OF’s Drew Gilberty & Ryan Clifford, & C Kevin Parada are all exciting prospects. Parada is the only one without plus speed. They could really make the Mets lineup even more dangerous. We’re in the playoff hunt despite power hitting catcher Francisco Alvarez hitting well. He’ll be a Mike Piazza type hitter as he matures. While our young hitters get most of the hype we have some electric arms on the way. Rookie starter Christian Scott flashed filthy stuff but strained him arm. He is the first wave of a group of talented starters like Blade Tidwell & Brandon Sproat who hasty, nasty stuff. The future is bright Mets fans! LFGM!😊👍

Dont forget about Tong
@TheFruitney3 ай бұрын
I remember Omar Minaya talking about how the Mets philosophy was about drafting the most athletic player at each draft position. Hence why they drafted Degrom and converted him to a fulltime pitcher. I wonder if thats how they still draft? If so then I don't see why Baty Can't transition to 2B. BUT if there is an opportunity to trade him and get a front line started that still controllable then id pull that trigger

@@The.Sheikk Tong is on an amazing trek through the minors. He could be up with the club maybe as early as '26. He's got stuff. I think Jett probably contributes in '25 ... maybe as a multi-positional guy. He's just got that "thing" that makes you think he's going to succeed despite his physical limitations. I think Clifford is probably a few years away, but ... damn ... that power. He could really be something down the road. I think Gilbert is the most interesting prospect. Suddenly, he has shown tons of power in the minors. And he definitely has ability on defense. He could be a "dude" for this team ... maybe as soon as '25. Sproat is going to be special. Either as a quality starter or as a closer. But he just has an electric arm. The Mets struck gold with him. I'm kind of "iffy" on Tidwell at this point, but I think he can contribute. I don't know what to think about Acuna. Hope he makes his mark, but I'm not all that jazzed about him at this point. Regardless, the Mets system is much better off than it had been recently. And I'm excited about some of the guys who will come up next year. Speaking of which ... Mauricio is easy to forget because of his injury. But I really, really think he could be a Jorge Soler (in his prime) type of hitter in the majors. I'd love to see him in a corner OF spot in the near future. I see 40+ HRs for him easily. He has "easy power," and I think it is just a matter of getting healthy for him.
