I'm from a Protestant background and can remember as a child of no more than 5 or 6 being hammered stupid for walking over graves at my local Cemetery. My Granny saw this as very, very disrespectful to the deceased buried below....

As a child we lived next to the city cemetery. Always a very special place for Derry people, always so tidy and well looked after. Many of my family members are in derry cemetery. We all know the great loss to so many people in Derry in the 1970s and all the lives lost, so many young people. I remember the hand trees, my brother put the fear of god into me as a kid he said the trees came a live at night and would come to our bedroom window. Thank you for the history, some stuff i did not know.

A very interesting tour of a cemetery my own ancestors rest in. I'd certainly be interested in finding out if you received any funding, not just to support the graves but also for the tours. [not a critique as you both did a fine job] but as a professional trainer of tour guides, I'd be willing to lend my services to offer training on presentation if you wish.

Speaking of the view, my Granny traded her plot two or three times - upgrading for a better view. She'd be up there, checking out her new view - very pleased with herself.
