I have two observations on this clip that remind me of people in my hometown (I live in southern Mexico): 1. I love how the grown-ups are having fun just by watching the young people dance to a song they also danced to when young, but probably no longer have the energy to do so. Their eyes are so heartwarming!! 2. When Joe told Gerry to not intrude in the argument, it reminded me of a Mexican saying: "There are two fights in which you don't get involved: dog fights and women's fights." 🤣🤣🤣🤣

We had a Bridie in our family too, here in America. My mother's mother's sister, who came over because there was no place for her there, and let's just say the woman never forgot a slight, and Ireland itself was on her list. Most Irish were happy enough to be here, I guess, but others took it hard, and nursed their resentments. Her husband was a lovely man, never a word of complaint, and she swore he never took a drink. At. his funeral, on the way to the cemetery, the procession stopped at a bar, where everybody knew him and drank to his memory. He went to heaven for sure, Michael. Just for taking a bit of the edge off Bridie. God only knows how she would have been as a spinster. Maybe they should stop giving out that name over there, for she was much the same as this one here. But she took her own time dropping dead. We had some Mary's as well, but none of them had the gift, alas. Oh well, she had her moments. "He wouldn't pay fifty cents to see the Statue of Liberty dancing a jig." When she lambasted someone, she did it with style. (But she loved Donald Trump, back in the 80's, and that's the last word on her).

@@niamhmclarnon5870 Mother-in-laws are the same about their sons. But the spouse shouldn't allow it to this extent without saying anything. It's just a comedy show but if this were real life, they ought to put that man in his place, especially the daughter because it's her parent treating her spouse like that. He's living in their house paid for by Gerry.
