For me the most memorable music in any computer game... the whole vibe is so trippy and the whole execution was so slick for the time.... absolutely love it.

I absolutely how they reused the ring sequence in their Aliens game during the dropship sequence. Even the music is similar.

Russell Lieblich. Remember that first carpet song (at 0:55) from when it was included in Little Computer People. None of the videos on the net seem to have that music play on the record player for some reason. Maybe just luck of the RNG? Really was funny seeing an old man boogie down to that when I was an 8 year old kid. Probably gonna be me when I'm 70, TBH.

I almost snapped the handle off my joystick playing this game on those super tight turns.

Something I found helpful for the flying sequences; Don't aim for the first "ring" that's right in front of you, aim for the one after that. Unfortunately, I was never able to finish this game. I could make it up to where the colors disappear and it was just musical notes, but no further. I don't have a musical ear, so I had absolutely no chance of correctly identifying each note. It was hard enough to remember all the colors on the higher levels.

The musical tune copy part of the game was quite the challenge to me when I first got my C64 because I had it hooked up to a black and white television! Not impossible but VERY tricky.

Interesting how he used sprites for the diamonds until they get too big then they become character gfx, that's what I love about old game hardware! Going around the limitations in creative ways

When they made games like this in the 80s - then I just wonder what the iphone is really for. Has any games been as fun as this on a touch screen ?
@lonewretch3 жыл бұрын
Nope... games on touch screens are made for people with little to no attention span and need to be spoon fed incentives.

The version given to me as a kid didn’t have the 2nd to last carpet ride song, and when I caught the final genie the game ended with a picture of a crown instead of one last ride and a picture of a palace. Don’t know why there was more than one version of this game for the C64. The rest was the same. Beside, I searched for the video for the music. :)

Playing this game made me well-prepared for the first level of Activision's Aliens. My friend brought it over and said he couldn't get past the first part, the dropship. I loaded it up and easily passed it on the first try. :)

They had a few designers on the Aliens game. I wonder who designed the dropship level and made the music for that level??

I remember somehow they used this audio on little computer people project when the person used the record player .But seems differently on other videos ..Must of been a hack for northern western ny , Buffalo/ Toronto area as some one had .
@blarghblargh3 жыл бұрын
Nope you're right. Absolutely had the same music. Apparently the composer was the same for both, Russell Lieblich. I didn't even know about this carpet game as a kid, and noticed it in the 8-bit guy's review for the c64 mini. Googled to make sure I was remembering correctly, that the music was also in LCP. And yeah, none of the KZbin vids I found seem to have this on the record player.

Without a doubt, the graphical gaming capabilities of the C64 were far superior to those of the Atari XL series, but, the music, I think, sounds a lot better on the Atari, maybe because of the 4 voices instead of 3 of the SID.
