I live in Maryland and was inspired by the Dervaes Family to start growing our own food on our very small suburban lot (less than 1/4 acre including house and shed). I was excited about turning grass into groceries! I am getting older now (71) and cutting back, but still making videos about gardening, canning, needlecrafts, etc, and encouraging others, and I love watching others become more self sufficient. Thanks for sharing, with love from BanDana Gramma.

I started learning years ago when his Dad was there i was mesmerized, i loved to know that his sister used a hand operated blender. And how the son made fuel from restaurant recycled oil. Am so happy they were able to continue and that they did continue what their Dad started. My love goes to them and may they continue to teach and lead by example. I had to do a double take seeing Justin again. He looks like his dad (heaven bless his kind soul). It's interesting to note where the second generation is taking the urban homestead. It would be a nice follow-up video to consider for this channel, a post-COVID 19 world documentary, fingers-crossed, to see how this pioneering homestead would acquire an even deeper value especially now that people are taking a second, hard look at growing even just a bit of their own food right where they live. Keep up the great work -- your family continues to be an inspiration to me.

An old Hoosier farmer echoed my great Aunt (she lived MI)when he said if you got to many `stick a price on it and set it by the road.' They both homesteaded. My Aunt thought plastic invention was awesome as she would recycle surplus! Being across from a school is an awesome location, let the school know what you are doing and donate a box of edibles to kitchen ( if the cafeteria produces own food it's a plus). You are proving a ministry.
