Derwent Inktense VS Watercolor Pencils - Comparison and Review

Thank you for this wonderful comparison! It answered all my questions, and helped me to make the right decision. I was not sure if I should buy inktense or watercolour pencils. I bought inktense now and I am so impressed, they are overwhelming! 😄

I also preferred Inktense over watercolor but I think it’s partially because I’m really bad at watercolor 😅 I’ve only really use the Inktense on paper though so I’m looking forward to testing it out on other materials soon! thank you, that was a very good video comparing the 2, I was debating which one to buy and your video has helped me make a choice I think I will go with the inktense to try maybe a small set. I saw someone on IG coloring with it and I fell in love with the INKtensity :) and vibrancy of the colors. Keep up the good work.

Glad I could help! I remember picking these up randomly when they were on sale and got hooked. Though initially I did not even realize they were supposed to be used with water 😅 I know this is a late reply so I hope you’ve been enjoying them!

I definitely preferred the Ink ones as well - the vibrancy is really nice! I'm terrified of working with colored pencils, but this seems like it'll be really helpful for someone purchasing their own. The side-by-side comparison is really nice! I think it'd be good to see the big pages of color swatches up closer next time, or maybe spend a little more time on them. Great job! 😊

Thank you for the comments 😊 I was thinking the same thing on swatches as well since everyone seems to enjoy them! But my camera lighting made it hard to see the colors clearly 😆 But I’m happy I tried this out! I’ll definitely keep you advise in mind if I do another comparison. And don’t be terrified of working with colored pencils! I find them easier than markers just more time consuming. But for paper crafts they work great for shading and details!

Water colour IS famous. Inktense is NOT.

Nice, but these are 2 totally different types of products. Watercolor pencils vs ink pencils, it's obvious that watercolors behave differently, as well as their finish is different. Thanks for the video

Good point! I realized that after using both but I like both a lot! Though I still tend to prefer the Inktense pencils :)

Thank you for your kind comment! I’m glad you found it helpful. When I first got the Inktense I was using them as regular colored pencils 😅 but was pleasantly surprised to see how much adding water can change them! I am still learning but love using them all the same 😊

I am confused because like both are good inktense is easy to use but watercolour was good in blending and layering butt i guess i will go with inktense thank you so much for a comparison video 💜❤❤

I've a set of Derwent inktense watercolour pencils AND a set of Derwent inktense coloured pencils. Both sets are inktense and colour outcome is determined by the quality of the paper I'm using.

I was surprised too! But they both have their own uses so for mixed media both are great and fun to use!

Water colour is famous. So it doesn't need any comparisons. It's FAMOUS. DERWENT IS FAMOUS FOR conservative colours. Haven't you noticed? I know you're not suited to conservative colours. They're intense CONSERVATIVE colours. Find a more suitable brand philosophy that suits your philosophy.
