The Trail Running Couple

Күн бұрын

A circular run around Derwentwater including Catbells, Maiden Moor, High Spy and Walla Crag. Based on the route of the Derwentwater Dawdle we added in Maiden Moor and High Spy. Start and finish point was Braithwaite.
The weather was amazing with snow on the higher fells and superb views throughout the day. It got a tad breezy on high ground but that’s to be expected and only adds to the experience.
Perfect day out on the fells!

Another great video covering some of my favourite places. I didn’t think you were going to stop running when you approached Surprise View.

Thanks Martin. Was always intending to do the Derwentwater Dawdle loop but that would usually take you off the tops after Catbells. Would have been rude not to include Maiden Moor and High Spy in those fantastic conditions! However staying high and going towards Hindscarth would have been good too! Thanks 😊

We did Catbells in July. One of my mates wanted to do Blencathra but non of the guys were up for it. Catbells was challenging enough for me. ha ha. The views across Derwentwater on the way down were spectacular

Catbells is a fantastic mountain, might not be the biggest but is varied enough on the ascent to make it fun and as you say the views are stunning. Thanks for your comments, love hearing of other experiences 👍

There was definitely a bit of bite to the wind, it’s almost like a signal to the start of a great winter in the fells. Already looking forward to more snowfall in the coming months. It’s such a contrast to the boring working week. Thanks 😊

Thanks, appreciate your comments 👍 As for talking, we’ve had many say they prefer to just be with us and hear the ambient noises. I see what you’re saying though and maybe the odd rambling wouldn’t go amiss. Thanks again.
