Tip for saving a few pence. If you use the same elastics in long kits as short kits, you can move your long lengths of elastic into your short kits. Ideal if you mess up tying connectors or they've become too tight over time.

I find in summer with 11/13 dura slip I have to re tie my dacrons every weekend before fishing never last more than a few matches probably get 2 months out of it before it need replacing

I like shot on my silverfish rigs which are on .14 or less I just cannot get them on anything thicker they ping off eyes gone fingers like sausages I’m afraid

I tie my hooks by hand and have had to succumb to glasses but still struggle sometimes, I have a metre square piece of black cloth which I lay on my bench and find it far easier to see small hooks and fine lines.

good short cut i saw des was to leave line on the old float rig .knot new line 2 the old line pull threw the pole float eye & rubbers

Great vid. Dez. As always 👏. What does cause me confusion is the way PI etc state 4x16 -10x 14 etc etc. on floats , yet when it comes the shot/stotz size numbers 8-9-10-11-12 are used with no ref to what printed on the floats. What do you use as a comparator please between these different number grades? 👍

top tip from me i cut the dura slip in half out of the packet and do 2 top kits with it works a treat and cost half as much ¯\_(ツ)_/¯♥.

That works for short kits, but the elastic would be too tensioned in standard kits.
