One sad thing about Carlos is that he was very very mistreated by Cruella in the books the movies are based on. He is sleeping in her fur-closet with bear-traps on the floor in the room outside the closet. He is very good at parkour because of this. He is actually the nicest villain-kid. Because the evil Queen didn’t invite Mal to Evies birthday-party, Mal forced Carlos to have a get-together at his house when Cruella wasn’t home. Evie was invited but It was a ploy to lock her inside the fur-closet. Carlos saved her from the closet. He is basically a slave to his mother which is why he is the most scared to leave the island because his mother only let him depend on her, telling him it’s dangerous outside of her “care”

Fun fact: The actress that plays Maleficent, Kristin Chenoweth is a Broadway legend. She's famous for being the original Galinda/Glinda the Good in Wicked. In the song Evil Like Me she's straight up doing her choreography from Wicked and her evil laugh is directly inspired by Idina Menzel's Elphaba/Wicked Witch of the West. Also the actress that plays the Evil Queen is one of the Witches from Hocus Pocus.

I love all 3 movies in the Descendants series. Such amazing casting, singing, costuming, choreography and makeup. On the Isle Of The Lost, they don't get ANYTHING fresh. No fresh fruits, veggies...nothing. All rotten or rotting. Also, I really love Jane's piercing ice blue eyes.

Sure, parts of this movie can be a bit cheesy, but it's fun seeing so many homages to Disney's classic movies, fantastic elements in a modern setting has always been an interesting concept to me, and some of these songs are actually pretty fire. ("Rotten To The Core" being my personal favorite.) And of course, Rest in Peace Cameron Boyce AKA Carlos. You were taken from us far too soon.

R.I.P. Cameron Boyce. He died too young. I was so sad when it happened, I couldn’t believe it. I’ve seen the first 2 defendants movies but couldn’t even get myself to watch the 3rd one because he died shortly before the movie was released

This was a great reaction! The first film was a great introduction to the Descendants universe. The overall message is that anyone has the capability to do good or do evil. So you shouldn’t judge others until you get to know them. There is a book series that take place in between the films as well as an animated series. In the prequel book, “The Isle of the Lost”, we learn more about our main VKs (Villain Kids) and AKs (Auradon Kids). As for the ending, keep in mind that they just chose to be good, and they’re still gonna have to face other obstacles like temptations or fitting in. Also they’re not the only VKs who want to get off the island. The real irony is that most of the Auradon parents and kids are hypocrites like how Beast judges the kids based on their parentages when he got cursed for his own vanity or that Chad thinks his family’s royal status gives him the right to mistreat others when his own mother was given the same treatment and that his father fell in love with her kind heart instead of her appearance. Also, it’s been noticed that like in Disney’s Zombies, which I highly recommend that trilogy as well, Mal and Ben had just met practically, and they would need some time before they share true love’s kiss. #RIPCameronBoyce 😈👩🏻‍🎤🪄🐲💜💙💛❤️

Evie was always smart. She was raised that people care more about the looks and not the brains. There was a prequel to this. Can’t remember if it was a book or video but both Mal & Ben had dreams about each other which is why Ben wanted to give the villain kids a chance so he could try to figure out why she was in his dreams. That explains the look when they first meet cause it was like Deja vu. The best parts of this movie is when you see each villain kid start liking where they are and realizing they don’t have to be evil. I also liked the twist that the spell wore off of Ben during the first date which would’ve been gone when he saved her from the water.

Descendants all the franchise is from my favs, about how there can be goodness in everyone if they have a second chance.. and it's really a great love story of Ben and Mal, how the hero and the villain fall in love, one of the scenes that moves me is when Mal cries for first time when preparing the anti-love spell for Ben, because she really fell in love with him, but even though she gave it to Ben, it didn't work because it was a genuine and true love that Ben feels for her, and of course how she learns to listen to her heart and that love is something amazing, and along with her friends choose the good. Also her friends Evie, Carlos and Jay learned together with her.. Also here I want to say R.I.P. Cameron Boyce

Of course, Kristen Chenowith's portrayal of Maleficent is all wrong.......but no one (including myself) cares because she's Kristen Chenowith! 25:31 Plus it gives us another reason to make another 'Wicked' joke (the rewritten character of Galinda/Glinda was written with her in mind for the role which is why she's blonde): "Galinda, your Elphaba is showing!"

I came into Descendants pretty late. I got curious because I saw that the Disney Villains were involved. Going into the first one, I was interested by the cast of characters. The cgi was rather cheap in a manner of speaking, but the story, dancing choreography, and the songs mostly kept me invested in the film, and the following that came after.
