Everyone will get political if human rights are on the stake, and they are on the stake. Especially for queer people, who has always been the backbone of the punk community. Whlst i do understand the need for escapism, theres still plenty of artists who do that, you'd just have a hard time finding them within the punkrock genre (and similar genres). Whether or not music should be political or not, it has always been political. Descendents originally took a political stance by not shouting 'anarchy oi oi oi' but talking about how they want a normal peaceful life, which was pretty much unheard of in the scene. It's not political anymore but it's not like they didn't start out political However, non-mainstream bands will only be political out of necessity. And in theory everything that involves identity is political, and so is the counter-argument. It shouldn't be political, but that's the world we live in. Denial of the world isn't going to help you cope with the world, it's phase of society we all have to go trough. Theres still lot of musicians who'll give you escapism opportunities though. Also liberal is often conservative anyway, i think you're mixing up progressive (open to change) with liberal (wanting freedoms) Turning up at a concert with a Maga-hat is a clear provocation, and whilst i personally think we should ignore those provocations, we know it's not going to happen. No matter how wrong bullying is, people who provocate for the sake of drama shouldn't be taken roo much pity on. Not all victims are innocent by default of being victim. If you invited me for dinner, you'd also expect me to not create any uneccesairy drama and not show up with a face of 'bring it on if you dare'. It's just not wise to turn up in symbols that you know are going to cause trouble. That isn't cencorship, it's just politeness. If you want unity, start by offering unity to all people around you. You don't give off an evil vibe, but you'll understand a lot more you give the good example first. it isn't easy to take the initiative, and you'll meet resistance from all sides, also the side you thought always had your back. don't demand change, try to be the change, no matter how hard it is and how long it takes to see tangible results.

We the people didn't make a mistake. We the people voted for HIllary but the electoral college chose the president. The states are not united in delivering the will of the people. Trump won, but not because the people chose him. Are we prepared for that to happen again? More than any president, including Trump, that system is an archaic mistake. For matters of national consequence there should only be one vote and then win or lose we respect it.
