Descent - Speedrun (insane-max) - Level 2 (

Hi there,
I had an idea to try speedrun some levels of Descent in "insane-max" category. Rules of this category were suggested by player Avder and are:
1. Insane difficulty
2. Cold Start
3. No Saves
4. No Deaths
5. All 1-Ups, Hostages, and the Full Map (D2 only) must be collected
6. All Robots that the level starts with must be destroyed
Played in D1X-Rebirth 0.58.1 with keyboard only.

Hey Marvin! I was wondering, do you use demo recording feature or just play with a recording program playing in the background? I can't seem to set the game to start recording on its own even after writting -autodemo in launching parameters.

Hello, it is a demo file from the game. I press "f5" manually at the beginning of the run.

Good job on this, one time I was playing Super Metroid for Super NES, I wanted to get 100% so I used to walk through online until it got really hard and realized I was using a speed run😅

@@zach4thlife I'm still confused. Is it even possible to play close to its limits without noticing? To me it feels something like going for a long trip and not noticing you are atacking marathon world record, lol.

Hello Marvin, i have a short Descent related question since u know this game in a out and you are bascially the Mozart of Descent. U´ve played and showed 3 secret levels in Descent 1, would it be much to ask, if you could do a short video on How To Actually Enter Those Levels? According to my internet search the entrances are in Level 10, 21 & 24 but where exactly, i can´t find this anywhere.

Yes, it is possible. Once I made it up to level 23, where I lost a life. So if I have enough time, I will probably retrain it and give it a try.

@@atifarshad7624 Right hand: Little finger - Num1 - slide down Ring finger - Num2 - slide up Middle finger - right arrow - pitch right Index finger - up arrow - pitch down Index finger - down arrow - pitch up Thumb - left arrow - pitch left Thumb - right ctrl - drop bomb (if I speedrun particular level I often change config of this button for what I need more - for example cycle secondaries etc.) Left hand: Little finger - left shift - shoot primary Ring finger - A - slide left Ring finger - Q - bank left Middle finger - W - forward Middle finger - S - backward Index finger - D - slide right Index finger - E - bank right Index finger - F - bank left (alternative button in a case my ring finger is busy with A at the moment, so can't hit Q simultaneously) Index finger - X - flare Thumb - space - shoot secondary Thumb - left alt - bank rigt (alternative button in a case my index finger is busy with D, so can't hit E at the same time). But I often change that button for something else for speedruns, depends what I need more in actual level. Also I change for each level what weapons I want to cycle and specific auto selection. Also I often use Delete/End for Mega/Smart missile
