@@ausc4747 Afaict without the villager trade rebalance this would have still been possible but would have been substantially more tedious. The "villager trading rebalance" meant he could sell a water bottle to the wandering trader to get an emerald, which he could use to buy wood to get the crafting table he needed. Without the rebalance neither of those trades exist. So the only way to "bootstrap" trading is to kill foxes for emeralds so you can buy saplings and something to grow them on which is incredibly tedious. If you want to finish bootstrapping trading (rather than just getting wood) then you can get apples. Then there is another side quest to turn pigs into zombified piglins and get gold. Then you can finally cure a zombie villager (using a witch to apply the weakness effect). An alternative might have been to skip trading completely and use bamboo from fishing in a jungle biome to make the crafting table but that would mean fishing up 18 bamboo which might take a while. Still probbablly much quicker than killing foxes for emeralds through.

i can understand why you went the route you did with the copper blocks, doing this in the latest edition would require you to fish about 800 times for just one block (string is 1/200 chance from fishing, so wool takes roughly 800 tries per block) Doing it that way would require you to fish 6,800 times roughly to get the 8 blocks and 2 string needed

You could've stuck the portal frame on your head while in the nether, grab another one and hit F to make it go into the offhand, and grab one last frame, to carry a total of 3 end frames at a time rather than a single one.
