Om Gurave Namah I am sure , YOU are Blessed with Divine Power. I have been following your video. I find them making sense. I read Brihat Parashara Hora Sastra only. This video is 3 years old so I think you must have changed your views on Bhava chart or Cusp system from Campanus to equal bhava /cusp system. Let me share my findings from Maharishi Parashara. राशिद्वयगते भावे तद्राश्यधिपतेः क्रिया It means Rasi chart can't be Bhava chart and Maharishi is talking about separate chart as Bhava chart from Rasi chart. राशीनामुदयो लग्नं तद्वशादेव जन्मिनाम्‌। ग्रहयोग्वियोगाभ्यां फलं चिन्त्यं शुभाशुभम्‌॥ ६॥ Lagna is defined that it is the starting point and also joining and departing of planets from rising Lagna. तद्‌द्वादशविभागास्तु तुल्य It will extend to next 30 degree so that the whole zodiac is divided into 12 equal parts. देहं रूपं च ज्ञानं च वर्णं चैव बलाबलम्‌। सुखं दुःखं स्वभावञ्च लग्नभावान्निरीक्षयेत्‌॥ २॥ It says Lagna bhava , it doesn't say pratham bhava nor it says tanu bhava .whereas at other bhava description he used name of the bhava . यद्यदृश्यदलेङ्गेशस्तदेन्दोर्भुक्तभागयुक्‌ Maharishi Parashara talked about visible and invisible half which means he is talking about first bhava starts from Lagna degree. Please do reply because I believe in your research. Please just type which house system/cusp system do you follow now.

Since this comment is 9 years after this video posted I don't know if I will get an answer to my question, but here goes. The introduction is great, but the all important question I want to ask is: The Cusp is shown as an exact degree, so what is the perimeter of influence to that concrete thing that you are looking at? For instance, the 4th cusp falls in 5th house which contains a planet, say Moon for example, how close to the cusp does it need to be too manifest the thing it seems to indicate?

What tripped me up with this is looking at vargas in Kala software. Because the bhava cusp numbers are all over the place (5th and 12th bhava cusp next to each other in the 2nd house, for example) . Is that how I should be reading it? Is there an explanation for this anywhere online? I would pay for an answer to this!

***** It's because the cusps are placed in the same fashion as the planets in vargas. If you understand how the planets get to the signs they are in in a varga, you can apply that to the degree of the cusp and it follows the same method. I don't know of any explanations anywhere online. I cover varga creation in The Art and Science of Vedic Astrology Volume 2, it is also described in in BPHS.

Ryan Kurczak I wanted to let you know I purchased your second book and it is helping me understand the whole process better. I figured your book might be easier to digest than BPHS. I'm late saying thanks, but thank you!

Ryan, Is the father represented by the 9th or 10th bhava cusp? Thank you!

Ryan, thanks for the description regarding house cusps. Are the concrete aspects of life which represents the house cusps the same as the karakas which represent a specific house? Such as third house, siblings, second house wealth?
@RyansVedicAstrology

That seems like a reasonable statement.

Thank you for so generously sharing your great insights in astrology! Being from Stockholm this certainly would explain a lot. How does this relate to yogas? Are they determined from houses or house cups? What about planets that rule no house cups and in houses that contain no cups?
@RyansVedicAstrology
@RyansVedicAstrology 10 жыл бұрын
There are yogas related specifically to the rashis. Those won't change due to cusps. However, if you are reading a chart a yoga may apply strongly to that cusp if it is happening in an important position from the rashi the cusp is in.

Ryan Kurczak I saw Ernst got something he calls "core yogas". Are they related to the rasis or some of them are and others not? Guess, I have to take this from the beginning and do some rewiring of brain circuits. Some charts up here in the north got 4 cups in one sign. (Hopefully ruled by a well placed planet...)
@kalindipriya6085
@kalindipriya6085 10 жыл бұрын
Ryan Kurczak One more question (if you've got time). If looking at a planet's placement and there is no cups in the rasi it is placed in, does it then not have any house placement? Does the planet then only influence the houses it rules (the rasis it rules that's got a cups in it)? It can happen that a planet is neither in a sign containing cups, nor rules a sign with cups in it. How to anchor that planet?

Your explanation is very good and clear but when I look at charts I'm still a little confused on how to correctly interpret… Could you give an example of a concrete 6,8,11,12 house cusp? Thank you.

Ryan, I can't seem to find a video of a comparison of the house systems and why you thought Campanus was the best. I've found Alcabitius, and Regiomontanus to be more useful from my perspective, but just looking for an argument against these would be nice. Thanks.

Would you happen to know any books that talk about the geometry of different cusp systems? I can't seem to find anything consistent online or in libraries and I'm curious to learn more. Also, I know personally with some experience in mathematics, it takes a LOT of practice to visualize details in 3 dimensions like for these cusps.

Ryan Kurczak This pdf seems to have consistent descriptions of Campanus and Regiomontanus, and it's from , go figure, the University of Singapre. I'm curious to mess with the geometry now. www.math.nus.edu.sg/~urops/Projects/Astrology.pdf

Ryan, how do you judge the house wich holds no cusps. For example, third house has the second cusp, fourth house holds no cusps, and the fifth house has the third and the fourth cusp. In this kind of scenario, how do I judge the fourth house? Thank you!

Thanks for the video. I dont know how to read which house the planet is in if there are two house cusps in one sign. Like how the moon is situated in the video. How can you tell if that moon is on the 4th or 5th cusp?
@RyansVedicAstrology
@RyansVedicAstrology 10 жыл бұрын
cole20cole You need to know what the actual degrees of the cusps are and then see which cusp the Moon is closest to by degree.

Ryan Kurczak Okay I got it. And say the moon is closer to the 4th cusp but not by much, is it concretely considered 4th cusp still or have you seen it to bring mixed house results? Thank you for replying, we appreciate it.

HI Ryan! Thanks for uploading this video:) Well I was just wondering if you could explain why the housecusps of the divisional charts get all mixe up(not in the usual order as you Count through the horoscope)? Also in the d-1 chart. If lets say 1st cusp is in cancer and the second cusp is in, lets say, virgo, then is leo(if empty/no cusp) counted as a part of the first cusps since the 2nd doesnt start untill virgo? This reminds very much of the western astrology, using for ex astrodienst online or such. So i Wonder if you have some planets at different degrees in a sign, which holds 8,9 and 10th cusp. How do i know which planet is in which cusp? Okey:) Thanks:D

***** You have to know how the vargas are created in the first place to understand that. And that is too much to type out in a youtube response! See the chapters on the vargas in the Art and Science of Vedic Astrology Volume 2. Basically, the cusps are points like planets. So just as the planets all go to different houses based on their degree in the rashi, we do the same thing with the cusps.

Ryan Sir do you apply planetary aspects such as mars 3rd ,7th and 8th aspect with respect to cuspal positions or rasi positions
@RyansVedicAstrology
@RyansVedicAstrology 10 жыл бұрын
Both. Remember, the cusp and rasi deal with two different ways of assessing the chart. The aspects are applied in that way to both.

Hi Ryan, I have been really curious as to why you have chosen Campanus house systems. I can understand the importance with the idea of the Zenith, Nadir, and Prime Vertical. But I was wondering why you chose not to use say Alcabitius, or Regiomontanus? In other words why did you find Campanus a better choice? Thanks.
