By far the most well filmed assembly on the DE. I had a curveball taking mine apart. It was a California version so there are two pins on the firing pin stop plate. You need to depress the lower pin which will allow the firing pin to depress.
@IWestexI2 жыл бұрын
I've never seen that. Makes sense that California would require extra steps to make a built in safety feature more safe to please the crown prince Governor McSaferson. Thanks for the comment and sharing about this new variation.

@@IWestexI My pleasure, its actually a nice piece of engineering.....that is worthless. Stumped me for a while, but apparently you can order a normal firing pin plate for maximum freedom.

Had an issue after reassembly where pulling my slide to the rear doesn't cause the slide catch to drop and the slide to be released, i have to manually push down/disengage the slide catch to release the slide. Bent slide catch spring?
@IWestexI2 жыл бұрын
Yes that is possible.

What have you found to be the parts that need to be replace? I was thinking of getting parts....
@IWestexI Жыл бұрын
Probably you'll only need an extractor polymer spring. Have a couple on hand. They are easy to lose and can deform/weaken over time.
@casey1167 Жыл бұрын
@@IWestexI Thanks. I somehow lost the gas piston... and at $35 not a cheep little part. I will get some of the extractor springs on my next order. Have a great day.

Great video! Thank you for this. I have a .50 and just bought a brand new .44. The new .44 will eject the spent casing but not grab the next round. The slide is closed after firing a round however so it leads me to believe the slide isn’t being pushed back far enough from the recoil. Another tidbit is that .44 is harder to pull the slide back on then the .50 which I would assume should be opposite if any difference at all. I just swapped the springs on them and hope to test soon. Have you seen this? I only use factory mags btw. Thanks in advance!
@IWestexI4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. You have to hold and shoot the DE different than any other pistol. You have to hold the frame still and it's difficult to do with all that recoil. Try locking your elbows and wrist. This should stop the short strokes.
@TRaider664 жыл бұрын
@@IWestexI Yes I understand as I have had many over the years. The .50 doesn’t do it. I initially wondered if it was exactly what you mentioned. However, I recorded slow motion myself and 3 others shooting the .44, all with minimal muzzle rise and the same results. My previous .44, same chrome finish never had this issue even when my wife shot full mags through it.

Thanks for clearing that up. It might be your feed ramp or maybe not hot enough loads. I'd have to see it in person to be sure.
