Your video my friend is amazing I got a dessert eagle from alloy empire. It’s scaled down to 1/2 of the size of a real dessert eagle and is more so like 40% of the size of a real dessert eagle but that’s just for clarification. One of the pins got stuck in it after a weird jam as the people who sent the product seemed like everything wasn’t tightened enough and I had to 100% disassemble it and have almost fixed the issue. I’m in Canada btw. The thing of talking about doesn’t shoot and is more of a collectible and your vid saved me. I was so sad as it was so awesome to play with it and get a feeling of freedom even if it’s only me having fun. Hate Canada’s gun laws so much. Thanks again for the vid it helped so much.

I noticed when you removed the hammer pin at 10:40 it seemed to have a slight bend in it. After seeing that, I went ahead and removed mine and sure enough it also has a slight bend in it. Is that normal? And do you think it should be replaced after a certain number of rounds?
@IWestexI4 жыл бұрын
Your pin will be fine with a slight bend in it. It's a roll pin which is hollow and less ridged than a solid pin. Once your hammer pin is installed, everything is tightened up and solid. I would only replace it if you notice any hairline cracks in it. If you want, you could get some solid pin stock and cut and file your own pin. Thanks for the question. Hey man You should never fire lead Bullets in your DE. Only copper coated bullets Thats because of the gasoperated design of the DE. +Nathan Frisque As a gunsmith it's difficult for me to determine the problem without having your gun in front of me. When a screw is locked in place, the problem could be a number of things. Im not going to give you any suggestions on removing the screw because you could damage the safety or the slide and that might not fix it anyways. I recommend you take it to a gunsmith. Didn't get a change to watch the entire video but what are the parts that they recommend replacing after about 1500 rounds? Great, informative video so far!
@DrQuagmire1 Жыл бұрын
I think it's mostly the recoil, magazine, and firing pin springs, as they tend to wear out the fastest (especially if you use the Desert Eagle more frequently). You could also replace the entire bolt and hammer with a brand new one, especially if one isn't a trained gunsmith and don't wanna run the risk of accidentally damaging the individual parts.

Not common to see a full disassembly, kudos to you. Would you happen to know a cause of the slide catch lever hitting the barrel on discharge causing the slide to remain open with a full mag? I already know its not the way I fire because I can sort of ''limp wrist'' one handed and the slide will complete a full cycle usually, but typically 2 handed shooting the lever hits the slide, keeping my hands away from the lever. I'm thinking the slide catch assembly is loose, much like the ambidextrous safety comes loose after firing ( fixed with thread fastener) . I notice I can push in and out my slide catch just a few hairs, is that normal? or should it be hugging the frame? Im thinking of putting some loctite on the circular part that goes in to the frame so it is in direct contact with it, so it holds in place when I'm firing. That wouldnt negatively affect the trigger or have any adverse effects on the frame?
@IWestexI8 жыл бұрын
I had the same problem. The cause is, believe it or not, the recoil throwing your thumb up into the slide catch locking the slide to the rear. Try this, when grasping the frame with your firing hand, point your thumb downward and completely cover your thumb with your non firing hand pinning it to the frame. It's basically the same grip as when holding a 1911 but you are pinning your firing hands thumb to the frame so it won't move.
@PapaJoJ8 жыл бұрын
IWestexI Its been so long since I last fired my DE but iirc I made sure to fire in ways that would not allow my hands to come in contact with the slide lever and it still locked back. I put some loctite on the circular part of the lever that goes in the frame, which will hopefully be enough to hold it in place properly during discharge. I believe the particular problem I have with my DE is just loose parts, like I mentioned before I had to use this stuff for my safety levers as well after putting hundreds of rounds through, the screws became loose and a screwdriver alone wasnt enough to keep them locked in. This truly is a unique pistol and thus requires unique maintenance. Hopefully this will do the trick.

@@GMDII I'm sorry to hear the tool broke. Mount the slide in a vise and drift the sight out from right to left using a steel punch and a big hammer or small mallet. Don't use a soft hammer like a dead blow. It's a big robust sight, don't be afraid to use some force, it needs it.

@@IWestexI I ordered a different tool since this thing wont budge with a standard hammer. If the tool doesnt work ill have to take it to a gunsmith. This is rediculous. shouldnt be frozen.

Where the fuck are the reassembly videos??? Why are there so many disassembly but next to no reassembly? It doesn't make sense that you all show us how to take it apart but not put it back together.

Should retitle this to partial disassembly. "Special tool" needed or not, this isnt "FULL".

You are more than welcome to make your own Desert Eagle Mark XIX disassembly video. :D

IWestexI Indeed I could, but that doesn't change the facts.
