The Catholic and orthodox saints have a rich and great history. Many people think the saints were worshipped but in all actuality the whole theme of their story goes is the simple fact the biblical stories and struggles are still continuing til this day so our story doesn't end with just the bible. I'm sure a couple of monks do some pull ups in saint Anthony's church.

I live next to Saint Anthony's Monastery in Florence, AZ, and the monks there do continue the many intense struggles like fasting, prayer and hard work in Arizona's 120-degree weather that Saint Anthony became the perfect example of in the Egyptian deserts.

I had no idea that Saint Anthony's cave still existed and a Monastery that old has been preserved over so many years. I'm an Orthodox Christian and I find it a little disappointing that the Monastery is Coptic, but it's cool that all the frescoes, icons, paintings, etc., are in the style of the olden, pre-schysmatic Church, which is the style of the Greek Orthodox Church today. Thanks for sharing!

​@@marinabolis1524 No, I didn't expect it to be Greek. But Saint Anthony only supported the True, Christian, Orthodox, pre-schysmatic Church, and always resented heretics. He even left his secluded dwelling place twice in his lifetime to go to Church councils to argue and fight against the heretics. I did not expect to find the Monastery Greek Orthodox, but, like I said, it would have preserved even more of Saint Anthony's teachings and tradition if it was Orthodox Christian, like, for example, under the Alexandrian Patriarchate. That Orthodox Patriarchate, out of the 14 Autocephalous Orthodox Christian Churches around the world, is in Alexandria, Egypt. I'm sorry to have offended you.

@@mishalarsen9376 like but we are orthodox christians, because our coptic orthodox church still holds on the ancient teachings of the first fathers, it's one of the few churches that still preserves the same costumes from thousands of years ago. And you need to see the difference between the Eastern and the oriental church, the split was because of linguistical misunderstanding and gain of power but if you watch some videos you will note that we believe in the same thing, I think even that the churches of the middle east are the most Conservatives ones catholics or orthodox. I'm really sorry if there's grammar mistakes, English isn't my first language

@@marinabolis1524 I do understand that the Coptic Church is much, much closer to the Eastern Orthodox that the Catholic, say, or the Protestant Churches are. However, there are still some small differences. And every single tiny iota matters when it comes to what we believe as our Faith and religion. Please don't worry about the grammar mistakes, they really don't matter. And just to clarify, what do you mean by the "oriental" church? In English, oriental means eastern, grammatically. However, that may be the name for a different church, like, for example, "Western" = "Roman Catholic." And by Eastern, I assume you mean Orthodox?

@@mishalarsen9376 oriental orthodox is the domination of those churches that refused the council of chalcedon which are the coptic orthodox Church, the Eritrean and ethiopian orthodox Church, the armenian orthodox Church and the syriac orthodox Church those churches are in communion with each other. They are different from the Eastern orthodox churches, it's not that orthodoxy belongs exclusively to one church or even to christianity, there's also orthodox Jews.

I don't see the good St.Anthony brought to the world. Jesus told his disciples to go out into the world and preach the good news and heal. He did not say to go hide on a mountain. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven." Matthew 5:14
