Oh my goodness, last night I just ended a 31 day fast. Almost every year ( not every year but almost every year, since I've been saved) I do a fast of the first month of the year. This year 2023 was a little different, I did a water fast for the first two weeks and I ate one meal at 5:00 pm for the rest of the month. I am 63 years old and last year I got hit by a motorcycle going 120 miles an hour, while riding my bicycle. My hand was hanging by a ligament or something and I put my hand back on my arm and held it on, while saying to the Lord "how are they going to fix this?" To make a long story short, by the time the ambulance came God supernaturally reattached my hand to arm ( the girl who witnessed the accident watched me put my hand back on my arm) but my hand was still badly broken. I spent two hours in emergency surgery. This happened on September 23, 2021 and up until January 12th my hand was partially paralyzed. BUT DURING MY FAST ON JANUARY 12TH GOD BEGAN THE PROCESS OF LOOSENING MY HAND. Usually when we pray for healing what we are really asking for is a miracle but the word says there are gifts (plural...gifts) of healing. So there are different ways of Healing. Healing is a process. My hand and fingers were mostly paralyzed for over a year and on January 12th the Lord told me to rub my arm and hand in a certain place and I felt my wrest, arm and hand loosen within about 10 minutes. It hurt to rub but it loosened. I've been massaging my hand, fingers and arm daily ( a lot ) since then. Today is February 1, 2023 and God is restoring my hand, my fingers are starting to bend and I can actually grasp things and hold them..... awesome! Everyday my hand is improving......to God be the glory! When I got hit and I was laying there I immediately asked the Lord "why, did you let this happen?" He explained and told me that He would heal me completely but that I may have a limp like Israel after he wrestled with God. I knew He didn't mean a literal limp but there would always be a sign of what happened. So my healing is sure. My heart is also healing from the trauma.....Yeshua is faithful.....Yehovah is mighty and powerful.

AMEN! HALLELU YAH! Thank you for such a realistic teaching on fasting. When I first started to do fasting, I felt as though it always resulted in a "bad" situation presenting. I now realize, the Lord was presenting something that needed to be cleansed/removed from my heart (if that makes sense). Recently, in a time of Scripture study, we focused on Matthew 4:1-11 where Yeshua, after fasting 40 days, was tempted by Satan with the three main temptations common to man - the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, the pride of life. We all need to know the Torah, the Truth, the Word of God, so that we can stand against the deception of evil.

Oh I love you kids so much! Well done. 😃❤️🕊️ I wanted to add a couple thoughts about fasting, too. The experience of physical discomfort and the lessons of self control are very important, it does cause one to realize in a keen way that the mundane, things of our daily lives, can have a strong hold on us. But, our Father is merciful. If you go longer than 2-3 days, the hunger goes away. One element that isn't often spoken of is the liberty of fasting. I think this was a bigger part in the lives of our ancestors because getting food was not convenient. Every day, a large part of the day was invested in gathering up the foodstuffs, cleaning, sorting, cutting, stirring, cooking, preserving, serving, washing, on and on. A lot of time and work would go into even a simple meal of bread that we modern people just don't realize. So, when one determines to fast before the Lord, it's not so much about personal sacrifice - that is suffering for going without - as it is about DEDICATION. You are stopping all the work involved in sustaining the basics of feeding your earthly body and instead putting the focus, the time and energy on the heavenly things. The other benefit of fasting is for the body. Again, our Father is so graceful. There is a physical reward in suspending the normal activities of this life and focusing on the eternal, even for just a few hours, even passing over just one meal. A CLEANSING thing happens within the body. The entire digestive system gets a rest. This is a very good thing because it can cleanse and purge itself without the burden of digestion. If something has been out of order, this is often the time it is repaired. Also, the very cells of the body are cleansed. A process happens - often within 24-48 hours - in which the body steps up the activity of "taking out the trash." That is, it will best remove dead and malfunctioning cells, particles and debris, and burn them up for energy. Finally, fasting, once you get past the initial hunger panic, actually can be energizing - surprisingly, you have more energy and mental focus in the midst of a fast. The worldly minded person assumes this is evolution, helping primitive man hunt for food when he really needs it. However, the Believer can see the loving design of our Heavenly Father giving us strength and coming along side us in Spirit and Truth. So, I have been thinking fasting is _mikvah,_ a cleansing that a priesthood would do better entering into a joint venture with the LORD.
