Watson is such a unique player and so fun to watch. Coming out I think everyone loved his mobility and intangibles but I think his arm talent got overlooked. Dude makes some insane throws both in and out of the pocket. I hope he and Mahomes stay healthy and become the QB rivalry of the next decade.
@rafsimmz5 жыл бұрын
He throws a softer ball so people just assumed he didn’t have arm strength. Truth is that he just throws with a lot of touch rather than juice . He’s been doing it since highschool , but he can fling it anywhere from any platform which is the most unique thing matched with insane mobility and improv . He really plays like aaron rodgers to me .

What a dope ass rival that would be. QBs I'm most excited about: Russell Wilson, Pattrick Mahomes, Deshaun Watson, Lamar Jackson, Kyler Murray, Jimmy Goroppolo, and Gardner Minshew. Kyler Murray has amazing all around ability and his competitive spirit is off the charts. I think that Jimmy G is also underrated because I think the guy just knows how to win football games. And I've seen Gardner Minshew do really impressive things and I think he could be really good, although it's still too early to tell. Dak Prescott is also a winner and is better than people think, BUT I'M TIRED OF HEARING ABOUT DALLAS. Not a big fan of Carson Wentz though. He's erratic in the pocket, doesn't have good poise, can't lead a team well, and makes too many poor decisions. Don't like Aaron Rodgers much as a leader. His teams always seem to underperform. Brady is a product of the Patriot system and I would looooooove to see him with another team. Brees is amazing but he's getting old. Bridgewater and Brissett have done really well. Would like to see what they do with more time and more experience.

Watson is the player I would take as my QB if I were drafting to make a team out of all the current players in the league. Mahomes has (slightly) better arm talent, but Watson beats him on intangibles and sheer athleticism. Watson is on his way to being recognized as the best in the NFL.
@porschepal79325 жыл бұрын
Watson has a very good arm though. I'm not sure you can really pick one or the other for the arm talent.
@danl.9095 жыл бұрын
@@@porschepal7932 Of course Watson has a very good arm. But PM's arm is spectacular, the best in the league. He can make off-platform throws that not even Aaron Rodgers can make, and make them with power. He’s unique. I still think Watson is the better all-around QB, though. He’s smarter, a better leader, a better scrambler and more athletic in general.

Sweet video and content. People need to have patience. The Texans are well coached in my view and improving. They can be a true contender. Watson is a COMPETITOR. Loved his will out of college and he throws a much better ball than people realize. I really hope he has a long career and stays healthy. The play-calling was a pleasant surprise. a lot of scissor plays has a rb or te roll out like that confusing the defense or they are just so caught up in the scissor that the te or rb are wide open, I played wide out in high school and every time i got the outside scissor i would be open enough to catch and run for about 10 more yards or all the way. Texans scissors seems pretty dangerous because they line up so close and they cross each other twice instead of once like a normal scissor play. In madden for years it seems that way to outside scissor open more than the guy going inside. It's like the guy going inside always baits them

Love the breakdown. I feel like the play Houston is running at 5:00 is maybe their red-zone compressed version of this Oklahoma concept from this year (kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6mzgmCmhbFlbs0) with Jalen Hurts "running" then throwing once the defense treats his RB-blocked run as a real threat.

Thanks for a great set of videos. I've been recommending your channel left and right. Question: How and when do you scheme a RB or TE versus a LB in the passing game? The Packers were in trouble early on versus the Chiefs week 8. The antidote? Sending RB Aaron Jones out wide. There he was often covered 1-1 by a linebacker who was greatly outmatched in speed and agility. Was it a repeated blunder by the Chiefs? Good work by LaFleur? Some mix of talent and scheme that could get exploited?
@porschepal79325 жыл бұрын
When you have a mismatch. Big body TE, or fast RB who the LB can't keep up with. Don't have to run a streak a slant will have the same effect.

I love watching these, because you realize every "elite" QB has a O-line that's allowed to hold, honestly that's probably the biggest difference. "For example Foles at eagles vs Foles at jags" same guy, but if his line can hold he wins a superbowl, if not then he is a 50-50 qb.
