Here in Florida, we go out the morning after a hurricane, look around at all the damage, and have a feeling of loss and sadness. But after that, we get to work trying to make things better. There are 2 years and 4 years to take a long hard look at what went wrong and fix it. Hopefully they do better than superdelegates forcing Hillary, failing to get Roe codified into law, and letting the next election determine Supreme Court judges
@reybontje23752 ай бұрын
@@jaketheauroranI'm losing hope. Honestly, the issues with the DNC is a symptom of another problem: The current state of traditional media, social media, and education. I used to think that the Internet would drive forward a wave of enlightenment through easy access to information. Unfortunately, engagement algorithms and self-catered safe spaces have walled off information that doesn't suit our narratives... If anything, it has encouraged division. Before, the news media would have some bias, but they'd still air opposing views. We still lived in the same worlds, where our ideas could be refined through debate. That is gone. There is a single path to saving this country from fascism: News reform and bringing back the fairness doctrine, legislation for engagement algorithms, a massive increase in education funding on par with our military spending, and voter reform via ranked choice voting. Unfortunately, this will never happen, because both the Democratic and Republican parties would lose power. Instead, we'll continue the gradual slide towards autocracy that began in the Reagan days.

I don't know why this is hard to grasp. The Biden administration didn't do anything. They stood there and watched the working class get destroyed. Then they told them "shut up, you're fine, the economy is great because my stocks and real-estate investments are up massively." Trump validated their pain instead of gaslighting it. Sure, his policies won't help them, but they don't know that, all they know is Kamala and the DNC spit in their face and told them their lived experience of financial struggle aren't real. If the democrats want to win they're going to have to either get better at being conmen like Trump, or they might have to go against their corporate owners and actually help the working class.

Trump won with 72.6m votes, Harris had 67.9m.. last time Trump had 74.2m and Biden had 81.2m!!!… That’s 13m voters who didn’t make that vote. Third party voters each time only made up around 3m… And I get Clinton lost even with the popular vote, but still, that’s 10-13m votes that could’ve made a difference. I’m not saying something nefarious is going on, I’m just dumbfounded as to where those voters were this time around….

You did not do your best. Instead of listening to former democrats about why the party alienated us, about why Kamala is the worst candidate you ever ran, instead of actually looking at what you did wrong, you guilted and shamed and lectures and thought that would work. And you will change nothing, and you will lose again, and you will deserve it. I refuse to be part of the problem on my own side. @@bookbwitched6823 Dems choosing an establishment politician who takes big donor money. That’s what happened in 2016 and that’s what happened last night. And just like 2016 instead of choosing a candidate who cares about the working class, they’ll just call the voters racist and sexist, which will push more of the electorate to the right, which will give republicans more voters. The Dems did this to themselves.

I guess it is a betrayal to not vote in these circumstances, that's what happened, 14 million people who voted for Biden stayed home.
