Thank you for making a video on Tripura/Agartala, Tripura is very close to my heart my Father is in BSF and I spent my childhood in different parts of Tripura and started my schooling in Agartala. I remember in 90's it was too difficult to reach Agartala as there were no train lines at that time and we had to take a bus from Guwahati that took more than 24 hours but now I see there are many developments in Tripura.

Hi I too faced the same problem of showing marriage certificate in a hotel in ahmedabad, gujarat. Even though i was travelling with my husband only still they said u guys don't look married. Show us your marriage certificate n wedding pictures n what not. After arguing for almost 30 mins at 1 am in the morning finally he gave us the room. N cited some stupid reasons for not giving the room. Police people check hotels at night n all. Anyhow we too had worst experience at that hotel but rest of our trip was superb. So its not only in tripura it happens in other cities n states too.

Tripura tourism should note the ordeals of travellers like you at the hotels in different parts of the state. Tripura is a tourist starved state and such attitude by the hotel staff will only worsen the situation.

Di, today I am facing similar issues about hotel, hotel's people are not nice. Even hotels are less. I didn't expect, this can happen in tripura, but yes food is awesome, there are lot of varieties. Matabari is like life time experience. Jai maa Tripura Sundari🙏🏻

These hoteliers in Tripura (maximum of them) don't have minimal understanding of the term hospitality and neither do they have much exposure to guests from outside state... Over that there is law and order enforcement agencies who keep harrassing them if they allow unmarried male and female guests if they are checking in together. Tripura tourism department must look into this matter and address these basic issues. Otherwise Tripura will never ever come under the tourism radar despite having endless potential for eco tourism; no matter how much they do publicly campaigns... You have addressed a genuine issue... Please do visit again... I hope next time you will not be soo disappointed...
