How about use IS-IS between sites and configure a lower cost for the preferred path?

Joel, this design discussion is very interesting, how we can accomplish the same results with any IGP such as OSPF or ISIS leaving BGP for ISP's would make more interest because in my opinion we can face more challenges in OSPF design instead of BGP.

Oh yes, using IGP for the WAN is definitely a valid design. But as you rightly called, traffic engineering with IGP is little tricky and might need more complex policies to accomplish what we did in the video. If using OSPF, there will be decisions on how many areas to run, placement of ABRs, summarisation, type of areas etc
